Heavy Rain – PS3 Review

Heavy Rain – PS3 ReviewPosted on January 8, 2011 | 3 Comments"How far would you go to save someone you love?"

I didn’t fancy Heavy Rain much when I saw it in Game, but I played it at a friends house recently and I don't think I blinked for a good hour or so. Great review for a great game.

Heavy Rain PS3 Review

Bing! “Thank you for supporting interactive drama!” chimes the PSN trophy. David Cage is very comfortable with what his latest project has become and is unafraid to define it. Heavy Rain may take some time to gather momentum but once it's rolling,...

It’s a shame that a milestone in gaming is tarnished by both technical and plot issues, but nevertheless, Cage has taken a visionary step in interactive storytelling, creating something bold, beautiful and engaging. Storytelling has come a long way...

How far are you prepared to go to save somebody that you love? The plot of Heavy Rain revolves around the twisted and demented Origami Killer, a murderer who abducts young boys. Four days later they are found, dead, drowned in rain water with an...

OverallA brilliant new concept and genre with a lot of attention to detail. The characters, graphics, and audio are pushing the bar for PlayStation games, but it still needs polish on some of its bugs and glitches. Unfortunately, there is next to no...

Heavy Rain PS3 Review

Heavy Rain, a game that developers Quantic Dream promised would give players total freedom of choice, with a notable consequence for each small action they took in the game. Does the final product live up to this though, or is it just more marketing talk?

Fantastic character models ; Excellent soundtrack ; Well written story

Some background / foreground textures leave alot to be desired ; Occasional bad voice acting ; A really slow introduction, which may put some off

Games Xtreme takes on the case of the Origami Killer in Quantic Dream's interactive drama video game Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is at its heart a gripping psychological thriller with a fantastic story and at times some truly exceptional visuals. Shorter than the majority of titles out there replayability can be found in experimentation of scenarios throughout the game.

If you are looking for a game with a strong story with an interesting plot full of twists and then is for you. It is not a mindless game, you really need to think about your actions. Though the implementation of the game mechanic isn’t always that...

Heavy Rain - Review

"Oh how I wish it would rain down."

That's awesome. The more time I put between me and my initial run through, I really want to sit Ali down in front of it and see what her experience will be.

Heavy Rain

If playing a shooter is all about guns and explosions and playing an RPG was about items and level progression, then Heavy Rain, which strongly pushes storyline as its main feature, would probably fall into a category reserved for where...

Heavy Rain (PS3) review

Heavy Rain has been causing quite a stir within the games industry since its announcement a couple of years ago. David Cage, head of Quantic Dream has been persistent in outlining Heavy Rain's role as something more than a videogame ? intent on...

Regardless, Heavy Rain is a fascinating project. It takes away much of the control featured in traditional videogames, yet is no less engaging because of it. It strives to produce emotional involvement, and succeeds in so many different ways. There's...

Doing for PlayStation what James Cameron has done for 3D, French developer Quantic Dreams has crafted a spectacularly riveting opus, deftly melding elements of both cinema and games unlike any developer before it. The fabric of Heavy Rain is its...
