Put the disc in the machine (PS3), was then told it would take 40 minutes minimum to 'load'. Cancelled that, took the disc out of the machine, put it in the envelope, sent it back. This isn't the early 90's, it's not a tape loader. It's not /that/...

I really enjoyed this game, the gameplay feels pretty solid but the controls can be a pain to learn, even on a second playthrough you'll frequently mess up a swing. The story is quite engaging if somewhat confusing to begin with, and some aspects are...

I could start this review by reminiscing about the original Bionic Commando game and all the fun I had on it ‘back in t'day', but unfortunately for me I am of a particular age group who were still playing with sandpits and He Man toys at the time it...
I could also state that I downloaded and enjoyed the recent Xbox Live upgrade of aforementioned game, but I didn’t so once again I can’t. To be completely honest with you, nothing about Bionic Commando had interested me before, and going into playing...

Although it's hard to imagine now, spoilt for choice as we are by the likes of PSN, Virtual Console, Live Arcade and countless compilation packages, there was a time when the games industry didn't seem so concerned with heritage. The convergent threads...

Its skilful mix of old-school platforming and 3D gameplay is unique enough to set it apart from the competition, just don't expect to be totally blown away.

First impressions are everything they say, and if that idiom holds true then Bionic Commando gets off to a rocky start.
Ultimately, Bionic Commando should really be applauded for trying something new. It would have been very easy for both Capcom and GRIN to turn the 8-bit series into another samey run of the mill third-person shooter that plagues the market at the...
However, even these best intentions cannot hide the fact the game never consistently hits the epic feeling most will feel it should.

After the excellent XBLA remake, Capcom is back to bring you the true "Bionic Commando" on the next-gen consoles. Can this impress us?
Beautifully destroyed city ; Crushing enemies like nothing is fun ; Bionic Commando is back and it's great ; The story does catch up with time
Lack of a decisive combat move ; Voice lines could be a bit better
"Bionic Commando" is not exactly a long journey, and can be finished around eight hous without much trouble. There's multiplayer and some extra itens that can be collected for completion values, but there aren't a lot of extras besides a level select....

Yes, it's another in a long line of 8-bit arcade classics remade for modern consoles - which is strange, as only last year we had Bionic Commando Rearmed to download on Xbox Live and PS Network; itself a remake.
Great lighting and sound design ; The grapple hook is a cool tool ; Isn't bogged down by epic cut scenes ; You need to strategise when low on ammo ; Large city to explore ; Find hidden collectables for trophies
Multi-player mode is slightly 'meh ; Human enemies aren't much fun to kill ; Drowning is a common occurrence ; Could have been a tad longer
Bionic Commando, like its protagonist Nathan Spencer, is something rather average given a boost by incorporating parts from other things. Swinging across gaps with grapple hooks is nothing new - nor is shooting at soldiers or throwing heavy objects at...

Bionic Commando is a third-person action game that likes to tease you. It dangles endless possibilities in front of you, only to snatch them away and replace them with limp gunplay and extended stretches of nothing. There are some good ideas here, and...
You'll come across new, more powerful weapons, only to discover that shooting them is just as lame as firing your default pistol. Moving about the world with your bionic arm is fun, but even that mechanical wonder isn't strong enough to carry the...

It started with a remake, now it's a reboot.
There isn't much replay value in Bionic Commando, other than trying to complete all of the in game achievements that the game offers. They range for swing a certain distance to killing an amount of enemies. There are also many little 8-bit icons from...
There is a multiplayer where up to ten players can play deathmatch and capture the flag. Other than that there is not really much to encourage you to pick it up and make another play through.
