Crash: Mind Over Mutant (Xbox 360)

By (cnet.com)

Dr. Neo Cortex is at it again. He's causing all kinds of trouble on Wumpa Island, and, of course, Crash Bandicoot is the only marsupial who can stop him. With that said, Mind Over Mutant isn't a game in which you'll necessarily spend a lot of time...

Rather, like Crash of the Titans before it, this is a game in which Crash's main function is to assume control of various mutants so that you can play as them and use their various powers to overcome obstacles. This adds some variety to the proceedings...

Crash Mind Over Mutant

By Ken "ZeroTolerance" McKown (ztgamedomain.com)

Crash makes his biggest leap since the PSOne. The Crash Bandicoot series has had a rough transition ever since leaving developer Naughty Dog's tight clutches. It seems that everyone's favorite...

Combat is simple and fun ; Writing is hilarious ; Can be played by anyone

No challenge at all ; Backtracking becomes tedious

Crash: Mind Over Mutant

By Brittany Vincent (vggen.com)

What we have presented in terms of story is a simple but comical one. The Bandicoots Crash and Coco and cyborg pal Crunch are enjoying a quiet life on Wumpa Island until Dr. Cortex's latest nefarious invention wreaks havoc upon all inhabitants of the...

Hilarious one-liners and audio really make the game ; Achievements galore for junkies ; Interesting new mechanics that allow Crash to control creatures are fun and easy to control ; The game is genuinely fun

Graphics are only subpar ; No camera control ; Some may get annoyed with the game's repetitive nature and backtracking system

Despite all its flaws, I had genuine fun with Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant. I dealt with the annoying camera, backtracked as much as I could stand, and still ended up smiling throughout it all. I passed up the usual Call of Duty 4 night marathon...

The "NV," disgused as a cell phone that users wear on their head, is actually a mind control device that turns its wearers into bloodthirsty, crazed beasts that want nothing more than to destroy. As usual, Crash must get to the bottom of this fiasco so...

Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant

By Nate Gillick (GT: ThrawnOmega) (xbox360achievements.org)

Crash Bandicoot has endured as one of the major players in the platforming genre; a genre known for dozens of would-be mascots who usually only see a game or two before fading into obscurity. While never reaching the legendary status of Mario, Crash...

Mind Over Mutant has the building blocks of a great platformer, but with a dearth of content and an inexcusable amount of back-tracking, it's impossible to recommend this game for anything more than a rental.

Now returning for his second round of action on the Xbox 360 in Mind Over Mutant, Crash hopes to keep alive the platforming genre; a genre which has been in steady decline for several years, and has too little of a presence on the 360.

Crash: Mind Over Mutant

By Ben Dutka (psera.com)

The graphics aren't overly impressive for a late-generation PS2 title, but at least we get some interesting particle effects and a whole lot of appealing color. There's a good amount of variety in the nicely designed backdrops, the character...

The controls are swift and responsive, as you'll never feel betrayed by a wonky control scheme. You are appropriately rewarded for quick reflexes but at the same time, you do have to sit back and take stock of your surroundings before dashing headlong...

There are secondary missions to complete as you lope along, having an array of capable Mutants at your disposal is a blast, and for once, collecting all the pick-ups in a platformer never seems to get boring. The level designers do a good job in...

Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant

By Justin Towell (gamesradar.com)

Genetically engineered for average entertainment

Child-pleasing fun ; Lavish effects, solid frame rate ; Lots to do

Annoying music ; Controls aren't perfect ; Restrictive camera

It’s unquestionably well designed, with loads of hidden bonuses for those who master the controls and the abilities of the Titans. But then there’s the fixed camera which, while faithful to the original, is far too restrictive when the environments are...

Mind Over Mutant is a lot better than Crash of the Titans and the world is probably a slightly better place for its existence. But it's not quite slick enough underneath all those pretty visuals to earn essential status.

Crash: Mind over Mutant Review

By Dakota Grabowski (gamezone.com)

Crash: Mind over Mutant has its ups and downs for a rollercoaster ride of an adventure

If you enjoyed Crash of the Titans, Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a slightly better game with improvements in critical areas such as controls, gameplay and storyline. Sadly, the camera almost ruins the whole package.

Crash: Tag Team Racing

By T.J. Deci (allgame.com)

This third racing game to star the perma-grinned bandicoot puts a new spin on the genre standards of chaotic, combat karting. As in the GameCube's popular Mario Kart: Double Dash!, two players can team up in a single vehicle, so one can steer while the ot

Crash: Mind over Mutant Review

Crash Bandicoot has been around for many, many years. Over this time his name has been put to many titles in not only platforming but also Kart racing. Whilst the Crash games have also had solid gameplay and are genuinely fun experiences, they have...
