Wario Land: The Shake Dimension

The Wario Land series of platform games started way back with Super Mario Land 3 on the humble Game Boy, eventually branching out onto the Game Boy Advance with Wario Land 4 several years later before disappearing. That is until he appeared on the home...

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension proves that 2D platform games can definitely hold their own in today’s world, even on powerful home consoles, since this outing is truly a sight to behold. Solid gameplay elements and a few extras lifted from other...

This amusing trifle of a platformer benefits from its vivid presentation.

Wario Land: Shake It!

Wario Land doesn't shake any conventions, but it's still a fun, beautiful platformer.

Lots of replay value ; Gorgeous background art and animation ; Challenging puzzles

Gimmicky controls ; Short Story mode

Wario Land: Shake It! (Nintendo)

Highly engaging and eye pleasing visual style, perfect for younger Wii gamers

Gameplay is a little too simplistic and repetitive for gamers looking for a challenge

Possessing the charm and vibrant visuals of a Saturday morning cartoon, Wario Land: Shake It! will definitely appeal to children; adult gamers, however, may find the gameplay repetitive and a tad dull.

Wario Land: Shake It!

With all the recent success of first-person shooters and open sand box games, has the day of the traditional platformer gone the way of the dodo? Whatever happened to the side-scrolling platformer, where the protagonist would have to rely on his quick...

Beautiful graphics ; Solid platforming action ; Hidden treasures and additional objectives add depth to the game

No voice acting ; Motion controls are gimmicky and do not offer anything new or innovative ; Little replay value

The game itself has plenty to offer, as each stage has secondary and tertiary objectives (like stomp on X amount of a particular enemy or finish the level under a certain time.) You can also collect three hidden treasures hidden throughout each level....

Wario Land: Shake It! review for the WII

Shake your money maker.

Classic platform action with a twist; Great cartoony graphics; Lots of replay value; Nice to be a bad guy in a Nintendo game; Good use of sensor-driven and classic NES-style controls

With the exception of a few instances.; Power-ups, please

Wario Land: Shake It Review

Wario Land: Shake It delivers all the action you can - and will - shake a Wii-mote at.

Tight retro-inspired platforming, gorgeous graphics, rock solid gameplay

Some twitchy vehicle controls, no real innovation

Comparisons aside, Shake It stands out in its own right. Shaking, twisting and tilting your way through the funky levels is a blast. Especially awesome are the vehicle sequences - including a few auto-scrolling underwater levels that are so old-school...

Wario Land: Shake It!

Shake that Wii Remote!

Shake It! is played in a similar fashion to Super Paper Mario: turn the Wii Remote on its side and press 2 to jump and 1 to perform a dash attack. By shaking the Wii Remote, players can execute the Earthshake Punch and shake objects and enemies. While...

Wario Land: Shake It!

Mario's antithesis is back with yet another fantastic 2D platformer.

Stunning graphics and great music ; Puzzle-based level designs ; Tons of secrets worth finding

Shaking is a cheap gimmick ; No farting

I heartily endorse this review and/or product. Only one caveat: Wario does subtly fart as part of his idling animation. Well, to be more accurate, he chuckles, and then you hear him fart. I guess he's amused that he's about to stink it up. The old...

Wario Land: Shake It

You know who's no one's all-time favorite videogame character? That's right, it's Wario. This Bizarro purple-nosed man-thing has been around for over fifteen years, and over that time some people...
