Super Mario Maker

The first thing you need to know about Super Mario Maker on the 3DS is that, currently, you can't share or access created levels over the Internet. The reason I bring this up straight away is because you may think that the major selling point of this...

Super Mario Maker 3DS takes everything that worked on the Wii U and replicates it for a handheld experience. It's a shame that sharing levels via the Internet isn’t yet possible – but this game’s a joy all the same.

Super Mario Maker review

Nintendo gives players the crown jewels of 2D level design in Super Mario Maker, but it could do more to guide the creation process

Tutorial issues aside, there's still a lot to love about Super Mario Maker. The game's presentation is stunning, the nods to the SNES's Mario Paint are delightful, and if you're creatively minded, then you're sure to get a lot out of it. However, for...

'Super Mario Maker' turns everyone into a game designer

'Super Mario Maker' for Wii U review: Making your own 'Mario' levels is deeply satisfying. And playing others' creations is pure, magical chaos.

Easy-to-use tools inspire creativity ; 's entire toolchest across the ages is available to you ; Endless number of fun player-made levels to try

Gated content means you can't dive into everything out of the box ; Wish it had filters for tagging levels

dumps Mario's powerful toybox in front of you, with elegant tools that can turn anyone into a creator.

Super Mario Maker (for Wii U)

If you ever wanted to make your own Mario levels, Super Mario Maker for the Wii U is the way to do it.

Easy to use, relatively powerful level design tools. Graphics and mechanics feel faithful to the source games. Excellent level sharing and playing system. The best reason to collect Amiibos we've seen yet.

Tools don't support deep, complex changes to how objects and enemies work. Can't upload levels with recorded sound effects.

Super Mario Maker

In anyone's hands but Nintendo's, Super Mario Maker could easily have fallen apart at the seams. Released this month, it is incredibly simplistic by design - players spend their time either making classic side-scrolling levels for - you guessed it -...

"Trusting other players for quality levels is risky business, but making your own is creative heaven."

Super Mario Maker (Wii U) Review

Super Mario Maker is so much more than a toolbox. It's a stage.

Super Mario Maker is a toolbox and a stage that allows players to show off their imagination and long-built Mario platforming abilities. Its jam packed with content, much of it designed by the community and running the gamut of spectacularly good and...

Super Mario Maker

For every kid who grew up in the 80s and 90s with a fervent love for Nintendo games and a flair of I could do that better creativity, Super Mario Maker is the opposite of dry in Kirbys dream-land.
