Sonic Colours – Wii Review

Sonic Colours – Wii ReviewPosted on December 2, 2010 | 7 CommentsThe best 3D Sonic yet?

Will take a look…..really don’t know wht they messed with his momentum…..that's Sonic Team for ya though – they always have to do something stupid.

Sonic Colours

For better or worse, depending on your gaming preference, Sonic games of late are best compared to a roller coaster ride; fast and exhilarating but with a sense of powerlessness. But therein lies the main problem – for all their visual flair and...

Then there’s the subject of control, a hit-and-miss affair that continues to plague the series ever since it went 3D. To its credit, Sega have moved away from using the Wiimotes accelerator to make Sonic move and have opted for a more conventional...

Sonic Colours Wii Review

Sonic has long been revered as one of gaming's most iconic figures. Star of the Sonic the Hedgehog platforming series which started out on the Sega Master System, the lightning fast, bright blue hedgehog blitzed his way through various successful...

Fast paced fun ; 3D works well ; Gorgeous level design and graphics ; Wisp powers are interesting

Voice Acting ; Co-op is nigh on impossible

Sonic Colors (2010)

Poor old Sonic. After years at the top of his game as an ice-cool alternative to Nintendo’s wholesome heroes, the move to 3D platforming wasn’t kind to the hedgehog or his candy-coloured pals, allowing Mario, Lara and the rest to leave Sega’s...

Games review - Sonic Colours is a fast improvement

Has the Sonic cycle finally been broken? Can the world's fastest hedgehog really redeem himself? Or is this just another high speed disappointment?

Some great level design and some of the best visuals ever on the Wii. Most of the wisp power-ups are a pleasure to use. Multiplayer is decent too

There are too many 3D sections and the controls for them are poor. Some nasty leaps of faith and too many unforeseen obstacles. Still fairly unoriginal

The road to Sonic's redemption is a long one, but this is a much surer step towards it than any other game in the last 15+ years.

Sonic Colours

Without the distractions of combat, hub worlds and pointless Wii-mote waggling, Sonic Team has been able to put all its efforts into creating a platformer Sonic fans can be proud of.

Sonic Colours Review

Straight after a triumphant return to form with the nostalgia-induced Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, SEGA returns with yet another 3D Sonic game. You'd be forgiven for thinking this was yet another 3D Sonic game to undo what Sonic 4 has done and,...

Fast and smooth gameplay ; Great visuals ; Nice soundtrack ; Seamless blend between 3D and 2D

Frustrating moments (this is Sonic after all)

It's easy to say that Sonic Colours is without a doubt the best 3D Sonic to date. In many people's eyes it'll be far more enjoyable (and longer) than Sonic 4: Episode 1. Sure it still has those traditional Sonic annoyances, but they're minor issues....

Sonic Colours [Wii and DS] Review

Like Arnie to Stallone or Brown to Cameron there have been many epic face offs throughout the history of man.

Beautiful design; Relatively short but it has good replay value; Classic fast paced Sonic

Can get a little too difficult considering lack of checkpoints; Boss fights are a little easy; Co Op maybe unnecessary

Sonic Colors Review

2010 has been the year of Sonic, but that doesn't mean it's a good year.

Annoying Platforming – Platforming in any game should be simple yet challenging enough to figure out in a minute. The platforming in Sonic Colors turns from easy to hard within the level so fast that cheap deaths occur.
