SimCity Creator

Poor controls and superfluous features hurt what is otherwise an enjoyable SimCity game.

SimCity gameplay is still satisfying and entertaining ; Visuals are crisp and buildings are detailed ; Destroying a city is pointless but fun

Camera and cursor controls are linked, making building frustrating ; All attempts at humor fail miserably ; New features do little to set the game apart from previous entries in the series

Sim City Creator (Wii) review

Build, destroy and eat virtual cities

A few potholes aside, this SimCity is the best version yet, offering some bold additions to the classic gameplay.

One expensive city?

The main gameplay concepts introduced in the original SimCity are still present in Creator, but additional elements have been implemented. One of them is the inclusion of online contests. In these, players who connect over their Nintendo Wi-Fi...

SimCity Creator Review

SimCity Creator for the Nintendo Wii is the newest iteration of the wildly popular SimCity games. For those who have been living under a rock for the last 15 ...

SimCity Creator is a decent entry into the SimCity franchise and some surprisingly fun additions add a lot to the series. Unfortunately, the Wiimote hinders you quite a bit in the beginning, but those with the guts to tough it out a while will find a...

SimCity Creator

EA's latest Sim title has hit store shelves for the Nintendo Wii under the name of "SimCity Creator".

Solid visual presentation ; Endless replay value ; All of the "SimCity" fun in 1 tidy console package ; Best "SimCity" game for a console so far ; Addictive ; City-changing structure are a cool feature

Doesn't add a whole lot to the series ; MySims" character design is a little annoying at times ; Sound quality could be greatly improved

If you're a fan of the "SimCity" series, give this game a spin. It's a very deep game that shows lots of promise and I highly recommend it to anyone with time on their hands.

SimCity Creator Review (Wii)

The SimCity franchise hasn't really seen a decent console launch, and without mouse-like controls there was never expected to be one. Using an analog stick for moving a map as well as placing the typical zone style layouts that is required has just...

The game looks as good as you’d expect from SimCity running in 480p and using Wii controls to throw disasters at your cities is actually quite fun, but once you’ve gone through the tutorials and challenges you'll either be too frustrated to carry on or...

SimCity Creator (Wii)

I'm angry. I'm angry because I really like SimCity Creator. If I didn't like it so much, I wouldn't be angry. If it didn't work well on the Nintendo Wii, or if it was just a sloppy money-grab console port, or if the old-school SimCity gameplay didn't...

SimCity Creator

While this SimCity game may look like it's just for kids, it's really all business.

Wii-specific controls are easy to use; all the management and creation options of a full-fledged city-builder

Fine control is difficult; MySims characters are often annoying to interact with; may not be good for kids

SimCity Creator

Build it, tax it, nurture it and destroy it

Looks sharp ; Classic design ; Accessible yet deep

Not enough bits of music ; Big city = some slowdown ; Glacial pace

More advanced players can enter contests, which are like advanced versions of the mission mode with online scoreboards for comparing your progress with other players. But if you haven’t got an internet connection for your Wii, you can’t play this mode...
