Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Wii) review

One year on, and the madness of trying to get yourself a Wii is worse than ever. To accompany the console, an equally elusive game hits the shelves in the form of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. On the face of it, this game should be pretty...

A so-so game. As in, it could've been so-so much more.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

If you're not a Resi fan it's worth a rent. If you are it's worth a purchase. Either way you'll have a thoroughly decent blast.

This game needs reviewing. It would be good if you, the master of reviewing, reviewed it.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (2007)

When Umbrella Chronicles was first unveiled last summer, most critics - Empire included - feared it was little more than a House Of The Dead rip-off with prettier zombies. And while that description is still a handy way to sum up the experience, deep...

The Consensus: Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Review

Just like the old days, but without the change machines and skeevy dudes.

Pacing and action just right; co-op recreates arcade experience; fun to see events from a new perspective

Camera can be annoying; newcomers will have a hard time parsing the story; in-game graphics fail to impress

For all its graphical weaknesses, RE:DC successfully accomplishes the most important thing: the gameplay itself. Standing next to your buddy as you both do your best firing-range impression with the Wii Zapper is an absolute thrill, especially when...

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

The Resident Evil franchise has quite a large following. Fans like to go back and forth trying to explain some of the unanswered questions that the games often have. So when Capcom announced that they?d be releasing an exclusive Resident Evil game for...

As a Resident Evil game, Umbrella Chronicles may turn off some fans, especially those that prefer the survival horror aspect of the series. But since Resident Evil 4 blew up the survival horror aspects of its predecessors with the game's own rocket...

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

The holiday shopping period is always full of some great games. Many of them are hotly anticipated and given the accolades they were expected to garner. One game this year however gets the medal for most improved, and that is Resident Evil: Umbrella...

Solid action ; The items and notes stashed in levels aren't exploration but they do add a great deal to this title's limited scope

You've played through this before ; Won't do anything for non-fans of the series ; No Co-Op for the new material

This is a fan service, and an early apology to Wii owners that Resident Evil 5 isn't making it to system. It's a fun action title though, and while not perfect is a great way to kill a few hours with a friend. The lack of co-op through the Wesker...

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

House of the...Biohazard?

Nicely summarizes the main RE storyline ; Co-op is amazingly fun ; The old-school arcade vibe is appreciated and works wonderfully ; Lots of unlockables and, thanks to the ranking system, replay value

Graphics haven't evolved much since RE0 and RE4 on the GameCube ; Some of the main bosses repeat in the bonus missions ; There are times where the sheer number of enemies will frustrate the solo player

I'm actually surprised. I just kept expecting another bad RE light-gun game. Man, now I have to buy another game.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

Resident Evil's backstory rises from the grave once again in this new Wii shooter, but should it be put back in the ground?

Excellent expansion of the Resident Evil story; who doesn't like shooting zombies

Controls are awkward and take some getting used to; can get repetitive fairly quickly

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

It's Like...

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is a fun game despite its short length. It doesn't come anywhere near the scare or gameplay calibre of Resident Evil 5, but the visuals and replay value of this title are decent. This game compliments Resident Evil 2...
