Mario Kart:Wii Wii Review

What can I say? It's immense. The hotly anticipated game is here and is living high above the hype it started getting way before it's release. There is just no place where I can start off telling how good this is, but here goes nothing.

Vast amounts of Unlockables ; Good Mii character implementation ; Good online Multiplayer

Bad glitching on the multiplayer ; Silly GameCube controller bindings

Mario Kart Wii

True to the series, Mario Kart Wii will feature adrenaline pumping racing action, a plethora of power-ups and masses of objects for players to use to slow down their rivals. Also with 10 battle arenas, players are sure to be kept busy between trips...

The smell of leather from a steering wheel the feel of the wind blowing through your hair, the sound of horsepower ringing in your ear. There is nothing more liberating than flooring a racing car round a few kilometers of tar. But, liberation is not...

Mario Kart Wii

The porky plumber and friends take a break from exploring other planets, doing battle through subspace and playing board-games by hopping into a kart or onto a bike and hitting the racing circuit once more. Cue insane boosts, frantic items and a white...

Mario Kart Wii is definitely up there with the other installments. A fairly limited single player appeal is enhanced by a comprehensive online service and a slightly toned-down but throughly enjoyable and flexible offline multiplayer mode. A solid...

Mario Kart Wii (Wii)

Nintendo's latest rehash of the Mario Kart series.

Overall the game is well made and is graphically very good for a Wii game. The problem is its just another Mario kart game at the end of the day and it doesn’t try to do anything spectacularly different. Though the last game that tried to do that was...

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii revisits Nintendo's well worn series and successfully manages to both cherry pick and balance the best bits so far. Certainly not as honed a single player experience as previous karting highs, but the online multiplayer along with the...

The package as a whole works well, not because of the packed in wheel, not because of the new content and innovation, but because Nintendo have proved that they understand what it is that makes this series great - the balance between racing and...

Mario Kart Wii

Until last night I was going to presumably be starting this review with some normal Mario Kart intro, with some rambling about the series' past and the like. However, having spent possibly too long with Mario Kart Wii last night racing against people...

Mario Kart Wii (2008)

As every generation of gamers has had a Mario Kart to call their own, it’s no surprise that every new entry in Nintendo’s hallowed franchise is a victim of intense scrutiny. But despite a handful of problems that undermine the candy-coloured...

Mario Kart Wii (Wii) review

It's been sixteen years since Nintendo started this kart racing malarkey. Back when it first kicked off no one ever considered it was going to be a success, and before release most commented that the best it could hope for was to be an enjoyable side...

When all is said and done the sheer fun factor that emanates from all Mario Kart games is alive and well in this iteration. If you're intent upon buying it for some solid multiplayer action (on or offline), then you will not be disappointed. However,...

Mario Kart Wii

Are the keys to the kart the keys to your heart?

A really solid Mario Kart with a terrific online setup. There's plenty here to make up for the disappointment of local multiplayer, but it does stop short of magnificence.
