Geometry Wars Galaxies: Wii Review

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved was one of the earliest Xbox Live Arcade successes on the Xbox 360. It was priced very reasonably (developer, Bizarre Creations, originally wanted the game to be free) and is pick up and play from the get go. Now, Geometry...

Top this all off with local and online leaderboards as well as the inclusion of Retro Evolved on the disc, and there’s very little wrong with Geometry Wars: Galaxies. Perhaps the lack of online multiplayer and GameCube controller support will be scabby...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Geometry Wars: Galaxies is like a geometric assault on the eyes and mind. Perhaps the most hardcore game currently on the market, the title that started off its life hidden away in Project Gotham Racing 2 is now a smash hit on the XBLA. Thing is, on...

We thought we'd be slating this game for being a shameful attempt to squeeze every penny out of a good idea by creating a half-arsed Wii port...sadly we can't really complain. This is a great hardcore offering in a Wii software line-up that is looking...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Geometry Wars: Galaxies gets its Wii-on with some novel controller-based results. Ultimately though, it's back to the twin sticks of the classic controller to get the best out of this shooter.

At the end of the day, GBP19.99 was always going to be a lot to ask for what was essentially a cheap Xbox Live game. But surprisingly there is plenty here to justify the purchase. Provided you haven't splashed out for the Xbox Live game and you already...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Did you know anyone in school that liked maths, ignoring the kids with too many spots, or those that opted to do maths because they were good at it? You're answer is likely to be ‘probably not'. I can't understand why most go on to study maths further...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Review: More fun than a compass

Magnificently smooth, slick and playable, with a good range of levels to suit all standards of player. Online leaderboards provide a lasting high score challenge.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

It's addictive, well executed, has a degree of charm which is difficult to pin down and has a pulsing, electro soundtrack that'll leave you itching to hit the clubs.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies (Wii)

Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the DS was an enjoyable affair, just slightly lacking the polish of the original Xbox 360 versions of the game. So, how does the game fare back on the big screen with the Wii incarnation?

Fun, addictive game-play ; Plentry of replay value ; Ideal for quick bursts

Screen can get messy at times ; Needs DS version to unlock all levels ; Pointer sometimes has a mind of its own

While in terms of game-play and addictiveness, the DS version of Galaxies has the edge, this Wii edition is certainly no slouch, and has the potential to keep you glued to the screen for hours, or just give you a quick spot of enjoyment when you're at...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies Review (DS)

Does Xbox Live's golden games cut it?

Lengthy single player; Online scoreboards; Healthy multiplayer; Contains the original Geometry Wars: Evolved

Lag can be a problem

Geometry Wars: Galaxies (Sierra)

Bot-friend who tags along, graphics, controls

New modes aren't terribly innovative, controls might not be precise enough for hardcore players

It's still a lot of fun and very addictive, but it would've been better off on the Virtual Console instead.
