Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii) review

This Wii follow-up to Path Of Radiance looks like a GameCube game... and plays like one, too

More of a huge Path Of Radiance expansion pack than a proper sequel. But Fire Emblem fans will adore it.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Classic strategic gameplay, Can finally save during battles, Just-one-more-battle addiction

Looks like a GameCube game, No multi-player? C'mon!, Might be tough on noobs

Fantasy strategy game more mature than it looks.

Parents need to know that this game involves mild but frequent fantasy battles. While the violence is relatively tame, characters who perish remain dead for the rest of the game -- a significant and potentially unsettling departure from most games. The...

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

If meticulously planned, blow-by-blow battles and pages of statistics spin your wheels, you'll take to this like a duck to water. However, if you don't enjoy being marched in single file down a one-way street, this may not be the RPG for you.

Can’t fault the excellent production values. Despite being turn-based, the game flows well and is a pleasure to play. You are guaranteed at least 50 hours' playing time

The linear plot may prove too restrictive for some, and may also be too difficult for novices. Many of the missions take several attempts to conquer – even for experienced players

Wait... I thought this was supposed to be a Wii game!

Overall, while it's by no means the most impressive Wii title, Radiant Dawn remains a solid game. The plot is great, the gameplay, while mundane, is entertaining. The graphics are a bit of a drawback, but real Fire Emblem fans will be able to overlook...

Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Nintendo Wii picks up where the GameCube title Path of Radiance leaves off. And while knowledge of the previous game will give you insight into Radiant Dawn, it isn't necessary to have played the title to get the full...

At its core, Radiant Dawn is a game that's familiar to fans of the series. While Radiant Dawn makes no use of the Wii motion features, those passionate about an established series remaining faithful to its roots would feel such changes unnecessary....

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (WII)

While the presentation is certainly lacking, the gameplay still shines, so if you want a deep and lengthy strategy game for the Wii, look no further than Radiant Dawn.

Creative levels; fantastic storyline; good character customization

Weak graphics; no-Wii specific controls; may be too difficult for some
