I didn't expect much but after renting it I think I'll buy it soon. My 9-yr old son loves it too. The controls are easy and there seems to be lots to explore and there are lots of little challenges scattered around too. we've been using it with the...

Not for me

either this game was the problem or it was my patience? only rented it for the wii board functionality, seems a little thrown together, controls were sloppy etc Maybe my balance is just no good. On a plus point great game for kids. Shame

Family Ski - Nintendo Wii review - Pocket-lint

By Stuart Miles (pocket-lint.com)

Will this save you a trip to the Alps?

Balance Board to control movement

It's a case of the concept is really good, but the execution just doesn't follow through

Family Ski

By Paul Govan (play.tm)

Many have dismissed Family Ski as a short-lived novelty that falls short of Namco's own 90's arcade hit Alpine Racer. However, my family lapped up the fleshing out of Wii Fit's ski modes. For us it does just what it says on the tin, and in some style.

Take it for what it is meant to be, and this is a game where all the family can experience a light Mii-infested slice of alpine skiing heaven

Decent use of motion controls ; Plenty of tasks to attempt ; Ski School is rather helpful

Having 4 players clutters the screen a bit ; Jaunty tunes may annoy ; Controls sometimes don't respond as you intended

It's a game best enjoyed with multiple participants, though the the name does make that seem rather obvious. Overall though, while Family Ski is fairly enjoyable Wii fodder, most of its appeal comes through the control system. Take that away, and...

Family Ski- Wii

Owning a balance board I was eagerly awaiting this release, however it is disappointing, once you've tried a few downhills its all the same.
