Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Wii Review

The original Dead Rising on Xbox 360 was one of the first real showcases of the graphical and processing power of ‘next-generation' consoles. Allowing you an extreme amount of freedom to roam around a zombie-infested shopping mall, and featuring a...

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

Dead Rising veterans might see a downsized port, but for newcomers this is an enjoyable horror-themed action game.

Same zombie-bashing fun as the original ; Multiple save slots make progress more manageable ; Some great new enemies ; Gunplay is easy but satisfying

Gimped maneuverability results in more zombie bites ; Fetch missions get old quickly ; Frank can't jump

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

Review: The Happy Shopper Value edition

Shoot zombies with guns ; Plot and setting is still intriguing

Not nearly enough zombies ; A car crash of technical downgrades ; Brainy poodle zombies

Another example of a game that greatly underperforms on a perfectly capable console.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Review

Frank returns in this exclusive Wii hack & slash game. Using motion sensing but with the lack of graphical power, can Frank survive this?

Improvement in save system ; Motion sensing controls work pretty well ; More user friendly than other Dead Rising games

Not enough zombies on screen at any one time ; No photography mode ; Feels somewhat rushed

'Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop" is almost a direct port of the Xbox 360 original 'Dead Rising' with a number of key changes. Many of these improve the experience whilst others do admittedly take away a large amount of the fun of the game.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

If you're going to do a zombie game, you may as well flat-out base it on George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Dead Rising isn't directly connected to Romero's zombie franchise in any way (according to their lawyers) but the word 'homage' would be an...

Nice cut-scenes ; Above average voice/performance work ; Pretty much anything becomes a weapon ; One of the better DOTD homages ; Tough bosses

Slow reaction times for Frank ; Graphics aren't defined enough ; Repetitive mall rescues ; Zombies magically 'appear' on screen ; You don't use Frank's camera in this version

Had Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop retained the faster attack actions and larger number of zombies from the 360 version then it could have been worth the wait. Unfortunately it's a bland Wii update with weak graphics and clunky controls, but the...

Like watching Dawn of the Dead on basic cable. Killing zombies in videogames is as natural as mixing chocolate with peanut butter. In 2006 Capcom capitalized on this by creating...

Mowing down zombies ; Tons of weapons ; Solid controls

Graphics are disappointing ; Frank cannot jump ; Photography portion is absent

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

While game enthusiasts often lament the Wii's comparative lack of hardcore games - and parents praise it for that very same reason - Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop isn't about to make either party particularly happy.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is a remake of last year's critical hit, Dead Rising on Xbox 360.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop

A Frankenstein monster that is one part Resident Evil and one part Dead Rising.

Good Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition controls ; Contains the full Dead Rising mission set, and then some

Too linear, with downgraded sandbox gameplay ; Visually unappealing

Star Fox Adventures says hi.
