All in all I think this is a pretty solid product. It has got a massive memory capacity, large touch screen display and is easily operated. The new software update that makes it support 3rd party apps more than dubbles it's usefulness.
Large screen, touch interface, thin, high capacity, 3rd party apps
Apple product, ie ; you need iTunes, it's a major pain to update and scratches easily

Launched at the Beat goes on event in San Francisco and then televised around the world, Apple has announced a new iPod; the iPod touch. But should you drop everything and run out and buy one? We managed to get our hands on one at the London event in...
3.5-inch touchscreen, CoverFlow, Wi-Fi, size, design
Only 16GB of storage, keypad shocking to use
It's like a lite version of the iPhone, but it will still make your friends envious
The Apple iPod touch is due to launch later this month.

The iPod touch is now even slimmer, at 7.2mm, comes with iOS5 and supports iCloud - a neat way of accessing your music and Photostream from anywhere via the web. The iMessage feature now lets you send secure messages over Wi-Fi too.
We?re smitten with the latest version of the iPod touch on almost every level. Additions such as Photostream and the editable playlists really enhance the player?s usability while iCloud addresses some of the ?tied to iTunes? concerns we?ve raised in...

In marked contrast to the nano, you have to look closely at the new iPod touch to spot the differences from its predecessor. The only visible physical changes are the welcome addition of a hardware volume control and the removal of the black border...

When writing about the multimedia capabilities of the iPhone this summer, we called it "the iPod that's really a phone". You could say that the iPod touch is the iPhone that's really an iPod.
The iPod touch is so similar to the iPhone that at first glance the two could be mistaken for one another. The real differences will become apparent in the future, but for the moment, this is a good-looking and intriguing product that will set tongues...
For now, then, the Apple iPod touch remains a bit of an enigma. It's a beautifully designed player that's incredibly fun to use. If Apple can resolve these initial quality control issues, we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a mobile video player, a...

The key feature, aside from the quite lovely 3.5-inch display, is the device's WiFi capabilities
Very attractive ; Groundbreaking features ; WiFi enabled
Low storage capacity ; High price
This all means that if there's no WiFi access available then you've just spent £200 on a high maintenance, low capacity PMP. The calculator's nice though and works offline..

Finally the iPod touchs empty home page has all the iPhone apps that were originally denied us.
As an iPod it's lovely, but it's as a WiFi device that the touch really excels. Now you can browse the web with a device you can hold in your hand and fit in your pocket, provided you're in range of a WiFi hotspot, of course. The Safari web browsing...

Is the Apple iPod touch more than just an iPhone wannabe?
Multi-touch interface is a blast ; It's the first true video iPod ; Decent sound and picture quality ; Incredibly slim and light
The iPod touch is too similar to the iPhone ; Contrast and viewing angle are average ; Not enough storage for some ; Feels like a rush job
As is stands, the iPod touch is actually a very good audio / video player that bears an unhealthy similarity to one of the most over-hyped products of the year. Maybe the iPod touch 2.0 will be more distinctive

Apple's new 32GB iPod touch very nearly lives up to the dream of the phone-less iPhone.
If you've held off on purchasing an iPod touch because it hasn't offered enough of the iPhone's functionality or storage, it may be time to reconsider unbuckling your credit card. Granted, the display could be a bit brighter and its colour a little...
We still desire external volume controls. And it's been a long time since you've been asked to pay £329 inc VAT for a 30-ish GB iPod. But the inclusion of Mail, Stocks, Maps, Weather, and Notes has transformed the iPod touch. Now, not only is it a...

The Eclipse from Brenthaven is a very basic laptop sleeve with a price tag to match.
The iPod touch running the 1.1.3 software with the iPod touch January Software Update is in essence an iPhone that can't make or receive calls and lacks a speaker and camera. And it's a nice thing to see. Many people found the lack of some of the...
It appears that Apple now believes so too — or, at least, is willing to believe so if you're willing to pay an additional £12.99 to add those things to the iPod.

Touch of genius or expensive gimmick? Bit of both really.
Of course you can dismiss the touch as an over-priced gimmick - and many people will, justifiably. Its sound quality isn't the greatest in the world and just 16GB of storage space in a device costing £265 will be more than many technological...
