Apple iPod touch (3rd Gen) review

It's not an easy task to review something ostensibly identical to another you've looked at before but that's pretty much what we're faced with by the 3rd generation AppleiPod touch. The first thing you'll notice when you break through the wrappings,...

Wonderfully fast, fantastically smooth and still a dream to hold

Serious camera disappointment, bad headphones and fairly pricey

Even more the pocket computer than it was before with the added power and bigger memory. It's not the gaming machine Apple wants it to be yet but it still the best in its class as a PMP.

Apple iPod shuffle (3rd gen) review

Apple has always strived to be The Ultimate in Adjectives, be it the smallest, slickest, largest, and who could forget with the latest touch, funnest. With each previous model of the iPod shuffle, they produced the smallest MP3 player, only to have the...

Small, good looking, can hold more than one playlist

Only comes in two colours, fiddly to control on/off switch, robotic text to voice

It’s hard not be to taken in by the proportions and design of the new shuffle - it’s like a highly covetable techno tie clip

Apple iPod Nano 8GB

The front plate sports a similar coating to the last generation of iPods

Amazing screen resolution ; Small and light ; New menus and Cover Flow

Screen is small ; Stubby design ; 8GB maximum memory

Whether its new stocky design will appeal as much as previous generations remains to be seen, but this is by far the best nano yet, and easily the best media player on the market at its price point

Apple iPod Nano 8GB 2007

Stubby. That was the first word that popped into our heads when we clapped eyes on the new iPod nano. Three seconds later, though, with the device lying seductively in our hands, we turned from sceptic to believer

Amazing screen resolution, Small and light, New menus and Cover Flow

Screen is small, Stubby design, 8GB maximum memory

Apple has once again raised the bar, and the competition will struggle to keep up

Apple iPod nano - First Look review

Launched at the Beat goes on event in San Francisco and then televised around the world, Apple has announced a new iPod nano: the iPod nano. But should you drop everything and run out and buy one? We managed to get our hands on one at the London event...

Wider screen than before, doesn't sit comfortably in hand

Still a small screen, no FM radio

Get past the hyperbole and it's just an average MP3 player

Apple iPod Nano (7th generation) review

The 2.5in screen of the Nano makes it a tiny MP3 player, but can play video and has an FM radio receiver

Apple iPod Nano

Apple's mid-range player goes square again

Small and neat design; integrated radio receiver

Expensive; no video

Small and well designed, but the price is too high

Apple iPod Touch 64GB

More than just a music player

Decent capacity; swift web browser; app store allows you to add extras

Music controls trapped on headphone cable

Not just a music player, the Touch is a versatile miniature computer

Apple iPod Shuffle

The iPod keeps getting smaller

Very small and light; great for exercise

Lousy headphones; awkward controls

Good for sports fans but poor headphones and awkward controls make this a niche product only

Apple iPod Touch 64GB review

The iPod touch got perhaps the least attention of any iPod in the line-up's latest revamp.

If you think a £110 premium is a fair price to pay for a bigger screen and App Store downloads, you'll love the touch. If not, turn to the classic and bag yourself an extra 96GB.
