Sony SDM-HS73P - TFT Monitor

I've been a fan of Sony's X-Black screen technology ever since it was introduced on VAIO notebooks, and I've always asked myself why Sony didn't produced desktop monitors using the same process. Well now I can stop asking myself that question, because...

PC Plus review: Sony SDMHS73P

It's certainly a good choice for gaming and movies, although at 17in, it's perhaps a little compact for the latter. For desktop work, it's something of an acquired taste.

Sony SDM-HS73P X-Black monitor review

The Sony SDM-HS73P 17 inch monitor seems to be an example of good technology crapped up by some bad design decisions. The good technology is the XBright screen tech (called XBlack by Sony) which provides much richer and more...

Sony SDM-HS73P

The Sony SDM-HS73P makes graphics and text look great--and it looks great doing it.

The elegant Sony SDM-HS73 displays text and graphics superbly, but the attractive stand isn't very adjustable.

Sony SDM-HS73P

The SDM-HS73P shows off Sony's flair for making stylish products, but it does not deliver the top-notch image quality that most buyers expect from the brand.

Sony SDM-HS73P review: Sony SDM-HS73P

Sony SDM-HS73P

Decent image quality; above-average gaming and DVD performance.

Black screen is distractingly reflective; limited adjustability; no digital connection; expensive; poor documentation.

Sony's SDM-HS73P delivers adequate image quality, but other less-expensive 17-inch LCDs offer a superior picture and more features.

Sony SDM-HS73/H 17'' LCD Monitor

WHAT'S HOT: True of most Sony displays, the SDM-HS73 has a snazzy, chic appearance. The screen rests in a thick, semigloss black frame that lends the monitor an aura of sophistication. A bow-shaped bracket catches the bottom two corners of the screen...

In addition to a basic setup guide and spec sheet, the HS73 includes a CD-ROM containing a detailed Acrobat PDF manual. The disc also carries a small application that runs an on-screen wizard to help users correct possible glitches in the...

Sony SDM-HS73/H 17'' LCD Monitor (Sony-SDMHS73H)

The HS73 would be a flashy complement to an office, or even a living room, and its image quality is sufficient for basic computing or entertainment.

Good purchase

Don't let the pictures fool you, It appeared to be just a basic LCD but when I got it I realized it's a very stylish monitor. It really has a very nice black color that doesn't show in the pictures and is high quality, of course because it's from Sony....
