Samsung CF791 review

I have enough ambivalence about curved monitors to fill a 34-inch screen. For games? No question it's good. For movies and work, though, it gives pause. Most movies use a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio so at best they float in the middle of a 21:9 screen....

The Samsung CF791 34-inch curved display is a great size for gaming, and the combination of a 100Hz refresh rate and FreeSync pairs well with midrange Radeon cards. Plus, its color is pleasing.

It only has two USB ports and the integrated stand makes life awkward for VESA mounters.

Big, bright and reasonably accurate, the 34-inch curved Samsung CF791 is a bit expensive for a FreeSync monitor but offers a generous feature set and solid performance for the money if you're a Radeon gamer.

Samsung CF791 review: A stunning quantum dot 34in curved gaming monitor

Another fantastic quantum dot curved monitor from Samsung; expensive, but well worth it

Good colour accuracy and contrast ratio ; Dramatic 1500R curvature ; Impressive integrated speakers

Expensive

Its 3,440 x 1440 resolution provides ultra-crisp visuals and, coupled with great colour accuracy and a surprising lack of ghosting and motion blur, it’s suitable for not just the photo editor but also the competitive gamer. In short, Samsung has...

Samsung CF791 34-Inch Curved Widescreen Monitor Review

I had been looking into ultra-wide displays for a while and talking with Samsung they said they had just the display for me to check out, it was their CF791 34

– 34-inch with a 1500R curve ; – Quantum Dot technology ; – WQHD (3440×1440) resolution ; – USB 3.0 hub ; – Easiest height adjustment I’ve seen on a display of this size

– None that I found

It has been a real joy using the Samsung CF791 display over the past few weeks. It is not often I am very impressed with a piece of technology, but with the CF791 I am basically like “Samsung take my money”, it really is that good! I feel like Samsung...

Superb Widescreen Monitor

I was not sure what to expect from a widescreen monitor as my previous one was only 24". However, it has been remarkable how quickly I have become accustomed to it and the display is brilliant especially when viewing 4K Ultra High Definition Video.

Best 34" I have tried

Main use for me is sim racing on a PC and occasional web browsing. I previously owned a 2560 x 1080 34" and have tested and/or used several other 21:9 and 16:9 monitors. I bought this locally thinking it would not be much different than my 34" 2560...

Samsung LC34F791WQUXEN

- Stunning picture quality - Solid and rigid stand is stable and easy to adjust, comes ready assembled - Premium-feel build, quality materials - Other reviewers seem to dislike the 5-way joystick control on the rear, but I can't see why not - I think...

- A bit pricey - Struggling to find specification indicating which version of HDMI and DP the included cables support, but they perform perfectly so it's not a problem
