Asus MG279Q

This gaming screen from Asus comes with a 1440p resolution and a 27-inch diagonal, but that's not all to like. It's got AMD FreeSync on board to make games run smoother, and it's got screen modes that correspond to different game genres – an idea...

Consistently good image quality ; AMD FreeSync and 144Hz operation ; Genre-specific game modes ; Good control and ergonomic options

Rival from BenQ has more features ; A little more expensive than the competition

Asus MG279Q

The 27-inch Asus MG279Q monitor delivers solid gaming performance, thanks to AMD's FreeSync technology and a speedy 144Hz refresh rate.

Supports AMD's FreeSync Technology. Solid gaming performance. Wide viewing angles. 144Hz refresh rate. Fully adjustable stand.

Pricey. Slightly skewed color accuracy. Tinny speakers.

Conclusion The Asus MG279Q is a solid choice for gamers who prefer the wide viewing angles and rich colors that you get with an IPS panel. The 2,560-by-1,440 resolution panel delivers sharp image detail and a very smooth gaming experience, and the...

Asus MG279Q 27-Inch FreeSync Monitor Review

Today we're reviewing Asus' MG279Q FreeSync gaming monitor, looking at how well it compares to Acer's XB270HU IPS G-Sync monitor?

144Hz•FreeSync•IPS panel•QHD resolution•Relatively low price•Superior off-axis image quality to typical IPS screens

90Hz limit on FreeSync•No ULMB

While we didn't find the 90Hz FreeSync limit to be a problem, we would rather see it implemented to the full 144Hz rate the monitor is capable of. Still, we had a hard time finding a fault with the MG279Q during gameplay or any other use for that...

Asus MG279Q

It is a very quality monitor, it's bascially everything you could want- adjustable any way you could want, vesa mountable, 1440p, freesync, 144hz, usb hub, sleek black aesthetic, 27 inches. Just really good.

I can't comment hugely image quality, all I can say is it's better than 1080p, I haven't seen enough other monitors to comment. And as for value, it does have everything you could want, so it isn't awfully priced, but it could be a lot better, and I...

144hz is really smooth, worth the price on its own. 1440p resolution is incredibly clear.

Came with a 2 pin plug instead of a UK 3 pin plug

The screen and all hardware provided is beautiful. From the bottom up the: the easy assemble base plate for stand locks into place on a retainer pin and attaches to the arm with a thumbscrew, the monitor then slides down onto notches on the plate of...

My monitor did come with backlight bleed, it did subside over the last few days but it is still noticeable on all black with no light in the room. The panel had 1 or 2 stuck pixels but they were unlocked with the use of a colour stroller application....

Asus MG279Q

A vast improvement over my 1080p monitor. Clear, crisp images. Intuitive. Solidly built. Plenty of inputs. I would recommend it.

It came with a foreign 2 pin plug. No UK 3 pin in the box. A touch over priced.
