ZTE Director (U.S. Cellular) review

I have nothing against entry-level devices. As long as they work well and are priced reasonably, there's nothing wrong with these handsets for people who don't need to be on the bleeding edge of technology.

U.S. Cellular's ZTE Director is reasonably priced and has respectable call quality.

The Director is sluggish and takes poor photos, and call volume is severely low on speakerphone.

Although U.S. Cellular's ZTE Director is inexpensive under contract, the carrier offers better handsets at the same low price.

ZTE Director (U.S. Cellular)

The ZTE Director gets you a free smartphone on U.S. Cellular, but you're better off directing your attention elsewhere.

Inexpensive. Comfortable to hold.

Sluggish performance. Small, low-res display. Poor camera. Mediocre call quality.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions The Director has 2.15GB of available internal memory. There's also a free microSD card slot beneath the battery cover; my 32GB and 64GB SanDisk cards worked fine in it. I was able to play AAC, MP3, OGG, and WAV music...
