Sony Xperia TX Android phone

James Bond 007's latest smartphone has a distinctive design, but lacks any real wow factor

Distinctive, arc-shaped design ; Excellent display ; Some nice UI features

Disappointing camera ; Average battery life and no 4G ; Plastic design feels cheap

The Sony Xperia TX has an excellent display, some nice UI features and a distinctive arc-style design. However, it offers little that we haven't already seen on rival devices, making it a good smartphone that lacks any real wow factor. Given this is...

Sony Xperia TX

This is Sony's best phone to date, but is being released at a time when competition is hottest. Its 13-megapixel camera should be the difference in Sony's favour, but it's not.

Best Sony screen to date ; Nice user interface ; Replaceable battery, expandable memory

No HDMI ; Photos can be quite noisy ; Older version of Android

The 13-megapixel camera should be a feature that really sets the TX apart from the pack, but regardless of how many pixels this camera can capture, the results are easily bettered by phones from companies like HTC, Apple and Samsung.

Review: The Xperia TX Is A Sad Reminder Of What Sony Used To Be

Sony's Xperia TX is the company's first attempt in years to compete head on with Samsung and Apple. But is it a strong contender or just an ode to the company's successful cybershot and Arc phones?

Great Screen and high pixel density; Sony's Android skin is the most attractive; Camera shutter key; ;

Cubed corners undermine the arced spine; Camera quality is underwhelming, particularly for a Sony smartphone;

Sony Xperia TX Review: The Bond Phone Just Makes Me Sad

James Bond movies have always done an amazing job at making me feel great. They're always so enjoyable, so fun, so cool. Bond's latest adventure, Skyfall, has all but departed from cinemas now, and we're left with a sense of whimsey from the world's...

Honestly, if you’re a veteran Sony Xperia user, you don’t need me to tell you that it has a software problem that makes it difficult to love. If you’re one of the rare folks that doesn’t care regardless — and I know you’re out there — the Xperia TX is...

Sony Xperia TX Review

A minor improvement from previous Xperia models.

Fantastic screen, unique phone design and shape, lightweight

Average battery life, keyboard needs reworking, camera doesn’t do well indoors

Overall thought, the Xperia TX runs smoothly through most everyday tasks – surfing the web, checking emails, Facebook etc. are all easily handled here.

Sony Xperia TX - the smartphone good enough for James Bond

Who doesn't want to be like Bond, James Bond? Well you can use the same smartphone as the onscreen super spy – the Sony Xperia TX – when it goes on sale next week.

Sony Xperia TX Review

The Xperia TX is a good combination of aesthetics and performance. However, it would have been nice if Sony bumped up the processor and ironed out the inaccuracies in the UI. For that I'm expecting the Jellybean update (which will arrive next year) to...
