Sony Xperia E3

4G from a top brand for under £100?

Has 4G ; Low price ; Good battery life

Low-res screen ; Quite chunky for screen size ; Very low-detail camera

The Sony Xperia E3 doesn’t use Gorilla Glass either – a toughened glass layer used in many phones as a protective top surface. It does use tempered glass, but clearly isn’t as tough as Gorilla Glass as you can very easily cause screen distortion with...

Sony Xperia E3 review

A budget option with a curious name

Good build ; Low price (likely)

Slower processor ; Massive bezels

A solid attempt at the budget market that needs further investigation.

Sony Xperia E3 Review: In Depth

We review the Sony Xperia E3, Sony's most affordable 4G phone to date at just under £100. But is it great value for money, or...

4G ; Nice design ; Expandable storage

Cramped, low-res screen ; Iffy camera

Sony’s Xperia E3 is one of a growing number of sub-£100 4G phones, and it brings some slick design with it, but there are better rivals for the same or lesser cost. The grainy display and iffy camera ultimately make it a difficult phone to recommend,...

Sony Xperia E3 hands-on review

Sony used its keynote at IFA 2014 in Berlin to unveil the Xperia E3, alongside the new Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact the SmartBand Talk and SmartWatch 3.

The Sony Xperia E3 might not have the best specs for a phone at this price but it is one of the most stylish budget devices around and includes 4G connectivity.

Sony Xperia E3 is Sony's cheapest Android phone yet (hands-on)

The Xperia E3 is a good looking phone, with a colourful body -- and it'll apparently be the most affordable Xperia phone to date.

Sony Xperia E3 Review

You're probably pretty familiar with the Sony Xperia styling by now. This E3 model maintains a lot those same design cues but at a more budget price. This puppy is available for just £99 on Vodafone Pay As You Go and you get 4G for that too. Not bad?...

This is a pretty tough cookie, built for everyday life and – apart from the chunky amount of border around the screen – it’s a nice looking smartphone with a very good battery life. I got two days out of it without too much difficulty.

Sony Xperia E3 review: Blue collar

Sony's cheapest LTE smartphone - that is the Xperia E3 key selling point, but is there more to it than that? With the same design language as the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact, the E3 looks well up-to-date and gives you the latest Android KitKat decked...

4.5" IPS LCD, 480 x 854px, 218ppi, shatter-proof glass, ambient light sensor ; LTE connectivity ; Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Xperia UI on top ; Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM ;...

Low screen resolution ; Thick bezels make the device bigger than 4.5" peers ; Battery isn't user-replaceable

The Sony Xperia E3 wants to make a splash but not rock the boat of Sony's other midrangers. Now, that sounds like a tough brief but the Xperia E3 might just have enough to get noticed in the crowded mid-range market. Bang for buck is key here and the...
