The Z320i is a handset as basic as they come. Although it performs reasonably well and features a compact, stylish design, the lack of Bluetooth connectivity lets it down immensely.

Compact and comfortable design, decent build quality, external LED display, user interface

No Bluetooth, only 12MB of internal memory, only one sound profile

Sony Ericsson Z520a

The Sony Ericsson Z520a has a lively design, cool features, and even plays nicely with Macs.

Good reception and battery life. Excellent Mac compatibility.

Somewhat hollow voice quality. Slow data transfers. Known (but fixed) memory-leak bug.

We connected the phone to Logitech, Jabra, and Plantronics Bluetooth headsets without a problem, and we were especially thrilled to transfer our own MP3 ringtones over to the phone using Bluetooth—though this feature may be blocked on Cingular-branded...

The phone comes in complete silver coloring and is really quite a dashing model, despite the standard clamshell shape, which allows for closure of the phone after it is no longer needed to be opened. The phone weighs 98 grams, which is very impressive...

for the price, it's an excellent entry level handset

Very cute design, at a very affordable price - mine (actually in red) was less than £15 at Carphone Warehouse. Drawbacks are the poor sound quality and rather sticky keys, which can even mean that a call is difficult to pick up. However, for the pri...
