Sony Ericsson W600I Phone

From a distance, Sony Ericsson's W600i looks more like a small shower radio than a standard cell phone. Up close, the handset--with its orange case and matte silver trim--looks very sporty. All things considered, it's a fantastic camera and music...

Camera takes excellent snapshots Works well as a music player

Call quality is only so-so

In the end, I enjoyed using the W600i. It's fun to use for music, and it takes lovely snapshots to boot

Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman

The Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman is a fun phone, especially if you like gaming or listening to podcasts.

Dedicated gaming buttons. Great battery life. Good music headphones.

Slippery keypad. So-so call quality. Memory not expandable.

The Bluetooth implementation is unusually good, supporting not only headsets and file transfers, but also the use of the W600i as a remote control for your PC. We'd really like to start seeing stereo Bluetooth audio, though, especially in phones...

Sony Ericsson W600i (AT&T) review

Sony Ericsson W600i If 2004 was the year of megapixel camera phones, 2005 has been the year of cell phones with MP3 players. Although the overhyped Motorola Rokr E1 grabbed the biggest thunder, Sony Ericsson countered by quietly introducing the Sony...

Attractive swivel design; quality performance; MP3 player with FM radio; Bluetooth and infrared port; speakerphone; 1.3-megapixel camera; world phone; 3D gaming.

Poorly designed keypad; ill-placed headset jack; users can't listen to music through Bluetooth headphones; no memory card slot; music-transfer software somewhat glitchy.

Although we bemoan the lack of an expandable memory slot, the Sony Ericsson W600i is a remarkable and user-friendly MP3 cell phone.

Sony Ericsson W600i

The cute, bright Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman ($399.99 direct, from $199.99 with contract) is one of the best gaming phones we've ever seen, and great for listening to podcasts. Because of this we're still willing to recommend it, despite its relatively...

Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman Phone

Design The W600i comes in three colors, and we got the bold orange one, which is cheerful looking and about the same color as a rubber safety cone. Owners can buy different colored face plates, if their phone needs refreshing.

A looped handle on the top holds the antenna, and the phone also offers a 1.8-inch, 176 x 220 pixel TFT screen and a 1.3-megapixel camera (with flash). The handset provides EDGE/GSM (quad-band) service, as well as Bluetooth and infrared ability.

The Sony Ericsson W600i delivers terrific sound for music-lovers, but we wish it could hold more songs. If a large track library is important to you, look to one of the other Walkman phone models

A Sweet-Sounding MP3 Phone

This Sony Ericsson has an excellent MP3 player, camera, video, and gaming. What more could you want? Maybe just a color other than orange.
