Sony Ericsson K850 review: 5 megapixel Phone-and-Shoot

We called Sony Ericsson K810 the rebirth of the Cyber-shot. We're now looking at a great leap forward in developing the company's cameraphone lineup in the face of the glamorous Sony Ericsson K850. It brings a bunch of novelties in design...

5 MP autofocus camera with automatic lens cap and three dedicated hardware keys ; Tri-band HSDPA (3.6 Mb), EDGE ; New Media Center, smart search, Manage Messages application ; Monolith body with digicam-like battery cover ; Brand new three soft keys ;...

Awkward D-pad ; Dust easily accumulates behind the protective lens cover ; Reversed soft key funtions, atypical for Sony Ericsson ; No Wi-Fi and infrared ; Fingerprint magnet

Tri-band HSDPA (3.6 Mb), EDGE

Sony Ericsson K850 vs. Nokia N95: 5 megapixel shootout

This year several GSM cameraphones have already reached the 5 megapixel barrier. The Nokia N95 has been out long enough now that it's even got an update - an 8GB version with a larger screen and a larger battery so obviously it will stick around...

Before we start though, we should point out that it's really hard to tell which of the 5 megapixel shooters is the best. First off, our Sony Ericsson K850 test unit is actually a pre-release version (expect our detailed review really soon), so changes...

Sony Ericsson K850 Review

Last year, the K800 was the best 3-megapixel cameraphone in our comparison, and after the 5-megapixel models like the N95 were announced, SE had to do something to stay compatitive. The K810 was just a minor update, redesigning the exterior but not...

Sony Ericsson K850 Preview

The K850 is the latest addition to the Cyber-shot family. The 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and automatic lens-cover has lots of camera-dedicated keys, unique keyboard with built-in D-pad and touch keys. It upgrades the software with more camera...

We may not really give a real opinion on the device, without testing the phone functionality, as this is not final. If we ignore it, we like what we see of the new K850 and are optimistic about its success when it appears on the market.

Sony Ericsson K850 - Z320

The internal memory of the K850 is 40mb approx, along with a M2 card slot. The battery of this phone looks to be a good fill up with up to 10 hours of talk time on a GSM network

Review: Sony Ericsson K850

The Sony Ericsson K850 is a 5 megapixel cameraphone with a host of photographer friendly features, such as BestPic. Russell takes the K850 out for spin and comes up impressed by the phone overall, though he questions the odd d-pad controller.

really cool phone! interesting D-pad method.
