Now I have two options, option 1 is to paint my Snap white and send that back, hoping that no one will notice. Option 2 is to see if I can manage to swap the screens from each of these devices over to give the Snap the touchscreen, it might work as...

Sony Ericsson Aspen review

In comes the phone call from Matt as usual, "I've done the unboxing, (which can be seen here) want to play with the Aspen?", so I had a look around to make sure it wasn't just another Sony Ericsson release, and I was pleasantly surprised...

Sony Ericsson Aspen review: Tree-hugging business

The Aspen may well be the phone you're least likely to expect from Sony Ericsson. To begin with, it's a PocketPC but shuns comparison to the XPERIA line. On a second thought though – it's a concept that can be traced way back in...

Four-row QWERTY keyboard, D-pad navigation ; 2.4" 65K-color resistive touchscreen of 320 x 240 pixel resolution ; Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional with XPERIA panels ; 256MB RAM, 265MB ROM, 100MB user storage ; Quad-band GSM support and 3G with HSDPA...

Small and low-res touchscreen display ; Fairly customized but inconsistent UI ; No proximity sensor for in-call screen auto locking ; No secondary video-call camera ; Memory card slot under the battery cover ; Poor still imaging and video, no flash ;...

But this is no time for a crash course in Sony Ericsson history. The Aspen is about to hit the shelves and we guess you are busy doing your homework

Can Sony Ericsson's green business phone impress with its keyboard-touchscreen combo?

Powerful Battery ; Wi-Fi, 3G & GPS ; Very Good Music Playback ; Very Useful Organizer/Scheduler ; Excellent Call Quality

Poorly Designed UI ; Resistive Touchscreen ; Poor Screen ; Average Camera ; Web Browsing isn't Good

The Sony Ericsson Aspen belongs to the GreenHeart line-up and has a QWERTY keyboard and a resistive touchscreen.

Sony Ericsson Aspen

Sony Ericsson Aspen is another environmentally-friendly GreenHeart lineup with Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Other features include a 2.4" touchscreen display, full QWERTY keyboard, A-GPS, microSD slot, 3.2MP camera and Bluetooth 2.1.

Bluetooth 2.1 is supported and the microUSB plugs into a computer and auto-syncs your data if you want it to, just like any other Windows Mobile device.

Sony Ericsson Aspen Review

Overall, priced at Rs. 16,744, the Aspen is not exactly great value for money, and neither does it stand out as anything unique. Its a fairly average phone and there are better options available in this price category, like Nokia C6 and Samsung wave.

Good multimedia features, Loads of connectivity options, Responsive resistive touch display

Poor voice clarity, Sluggish user interface, Keypad is not ergonomic for extended usage
