Vodafone 360 H1 (Samsung GT-I8320)

Vodafone's H1 aims to bring social networking full circle. Niall checks out whether it succeeds.

Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

Can Vodafone re-invent mobile social networking?

Great, vivid screen ; Good amount of storage ; Nice camera with 720p recording ; Unlimited music service ; Integrated contacts

Complex 360 system ; No Facebook messaging ; Bluetooth won't sync ; Email is untidily sorted ; Video is hidden away in gallery

A decent idea from Vodafone, but ultimately needs some better applications and tighter social networking interaction to be a winner

Vodafone 360 H1

The H1 is Vodafone's first handset designed specifically for their new Vodafone 360 service, the other being the M1. Both handsets are made by Samsung (the H1 being designated the i8320), but only available from Vodafone. The H1 is also a LiMo handset...

Screen resolution, web service makes contact management easy, good camera, HD video capture, 16GB internal memory

Buggy software, screen not responsive enough, frequent crashes, problems staying connected to network, poor app offering, lack of integration of existing services, hardware feels cheap

Having spent a fair amount of time with handsets offering a wide range of connected services, it's fair to say that the H1 doesn't offer an intuitive offering. It looks on paper as though it is going answer many questions but it doesn't. The operating...

Vodafone Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

Vodafone's new 360 service, which consists of mobile software and a website, aggregates your instant messaging, social networking and email accounts, just like HTC's Sense and Motorola's Motoblur software. Currently it works with only two...

Despite great hardware and contact aggregation, the H1's LiMo operating system doesn't have the application support of its rivals.

Samsung H1 review

Social networking, cloud computing and apps, has this unique hardware/software combo discovered the secret mix for mobile success?

An innovative idea falls foul to an over complicated UI and half-baked social network integration

Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

First up is the Samsung H1's amazingly bright 3.5in Oled (organic light-emitting diode) display. The H1 has a QVGA resolution on which its 16.7 million shades of colour almost literally sing.

Combining the fun factor and responsive touchscreen of the iPhone and the excellent communication features of the Palm and BlackBerry, the Samsung H1 is a superior phone that's up there with the best of the smartphones.

The Vodafone H1 promises to put all your social networking contacts in the palm of your hand. It also has some attractive technical features such as a 5-megapixel camera, 3.5G compatibility and a large 3.5 inch widescreen display so you can watch video...

Samsung Vodafone 360 H1 review -

Good touch-screen, supports dozens of social networks, automatic backup for contacts and photos

Social network integration is pretty basic, keyboard not efficiently designed, confusing feature set

Samsung H1 Vodafone 360

Cute social network-centric UI, but the H1 on 360 isn't as out-of-the-box-easy as it should be.

The H1’s focus is on social networking is welcome, but the phone has some key faults. If you pull in contacts from, say, Google and Facebook, you’ll need to ‘merge’ the data using the Vodafone 360 website to make sure the same person doesn’t appear on...

Vodafone 360 H1 review

Vodafone's Samsung-manufactured 360 H1 represents a bold move for the carrier. Where virtually every other mobile phone player is heading down the Android road to smartphone success, Vodafone has gone for broke and pegged its hopes on the all-new LiMo...

The OLED screen and good storage potential

The flaky touchscreen responsiveness, the paltry app selection

The Vodafone 360 H1 is a ‘nice try’ effort. Sadly, in practice it can't compete with the top dogs.
