Samsung U100

The Samsung U100 is a part of the new Ultra Edition II range comprising the slimmest devices available from this maker. Apart from the U100, the other models are Samsung U300, Samsung U600 and Samsung U700. If you take into consideration the model's...

It is interesting to look after the alterations the Samsung-branded handsets go through in between announcement date and actual arrival in the market the company usually modifies some specifications, design and software components. For instance, the...

Samsung U100 Phone

The Samsung U100 Ultra Edition 5.9 has been given its name due to the super slim design of this handset. The U100 is only 5.9mm in thickness which means Samsung are marketing it has the slimmest phone in the World. The handset is slim & also comes with...

The U100 may not have a generous features list and lacks a memory card slot, but it wows with its design alone. At just 5.9mm thin and a weight of 59g, it really is a stunning piece of industrial design.

5.9mm thin, reasonable display, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth with A2DP profile

No memory card slot, flat keypad, battery life

Samsung U100 review: Razor sharp

The new ultra-slim Samsung U100 captivates with its graceful silhouette, to unveil a multitude of functions. Early this summer Samsung launched their new Ultra Edition II series, which was featured at this year's 3GSM congress. Slim shape is the...

Mere 5.9 mm thick ; Solid construction ; Exquisite horizontal display ; 1000-contact multiple-entry phonebook ; 3 megapixel camera ; Advanced image-editing options ; GPRS and EDGE Class 10 ; Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP support ; TV out ; Document viewer...

A little uncomfortable keypad ; Average display resolution ; Poor display legibility in direct sunlight ; No indication of missed events ; No ringing profiles ; No FM radio ; Only 70 MB of internal memory, non-extendable ; Display is easy to scratch ;...

Samsung U100 (which is short for Samsung SGH-U100) is the successor of Samsung X820. By the way, Samsung U100 is also dubbed Ultra 5.9, to underscore the staggering 5.9 millimeters the device measures in thickness

Samsung U100

At only 5.9mm thick, Samsung's U100 is a wafer-thin candy-bar style phone with a 3-megapixel camera built-in.

Outlook The Samsung U100 is likely to be available shortly through Virgin mobile.

Samsung SGH-U100 Review

Samsung is one of the leading mobile phone manufacturers in the world and it perfectly proved that with the latest Ultra Edition Series. The majority of Samsung branded mobile phones integrate only the best high-resolution screens or cameras, dedicated...

I'd say the best feature of the phone is the 3.2 Megapixel camera which shoots really well. I don't consider the 5.9 mm thickness of the phone an advantage, on the contrary, but that's just me. Another strong point of the phone is its versatile...

I don't think that manufacturing a phone that has a stated autonomy of only 2 hours and 30 minutes is a good idea. Maybe replacing the Li-Ion 690 mAh battery with a better one will ease the life of its owners. The keypad is very hard to handle and...

Samsung SGH U100 (Ultra 5.9)

Samsung SGH U100 (Ultra Edition 5.9) is the world's slimmest phone measuring only 5.9mm thick. It features a 3.2-megapixel camera, 70MB memory, Bluetooth (A2DP), MP3 player and TV-out.

Good camera; very slim; fast performance; Search feature

Keypad could be more responsive

However those are just small matters than can be overlooked as the phone has many positive attributes and it is also fairly priced.

Samsung U100

This post is old, so no longer really relevant, but will have my two cents anyway. Bought the Phone for only $80, as a cheap work phone. After 5 months of severe abuse (security guard work) including falling onto it, having it thrown at walls and...

Slim phone, do not notice it in the pocket ; Easy to use ; Able to withstand abuse (not as fragile as others would have you believe- you cannot snap in half, unless you deliberately wanted to do so.)

Poor tactile feedback of the keypad ; lack of expansion slot ; Camera- even at 3.2 MegaPixels, the camera takes poor photos ; Battery life requires it be charged more often than others (every second night if used fairly regularly)
