Samsung Trender SPH-M380 review:

We've got to chuckle a bit at the Samsung Trender (also known as the Samsung SPH-M380), Sprint's latest messaging phone, and we have to wonder if Samsung purposely dabbled in irony when naming it. It's been months since we've seen a device of this type...

The Samsung Trender has a familiar slide-out design and an interface that's easy to get around.

The Trender has a flat keyboard, the camera took dull photos, and it's saddled by slower 3G.

If you're trying to avoid a data plan, the Samsung Trender is one affordable messaging option, though one of Sprint's budget Android phones could prove a better value.

Samsung Trender SPH-M380 (Sprint)

The Samsung Trender SPH-M380 may not be trendy, but it's a decent, workmanlike phone for voice calls, messaging, and social networking.

Small and attractive. Good call quality. Comfy keyboard. Loud speakerphone.

Poor camera. Short battery life. Hit-or-miss touch screen response. No GPS.

Multimedia, Eco-Friendliness, and Conclusions There's a standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack on top of the phone. The microSD card slot is located underneath the battery cover, but not the battery; it's not too tough to get at, and my 32GB SanDisk card...

Last summer the Samsung Seek brought touchscreens to the entry level market, now Samsung and Sprint are back with a follow-up. The Samsung Trender remains essentially the same as the Seek, but adds some nice upgrades like a larger screen and a more...

Samsung Trender Reviewed: Entry Level Disaster

The Samsung Trender is an interesting addition to the Sprint line up in the U.S. market. An entry level smartphone that doesn't feature Android, the Trender is actually breaking the trend. But does that make the Trender a successful phone or an obvious...

Overall the Samsung Trender easily ranks in as a 'Below Average' phone. It doesn't have many redeeming qualities, with the resistive touch screen, the slow user interface, the bad call quality and the horrid camera. This is one phone to forget about in...

Samsung Trender SPH-M380 – Affordable Messaging Option

The Samsung Trender SPH-M3880 aka the Samsung Trender is Sprint's recently launched messaging phone from Samsung, and more than anything the phone made us chuckle at it when we first interacted with it. The simple reason for this being the fact that...

Not a great phone, but not completely terrible, either. Really hard to answer calls--takes several swipes with my left thumb. Same with ending a call (takes 2 steps). Touch screen is otherwise a bit too sensitive. Turns off at the top, so doesn't...
