T-Mobile Sidekick iD review

T-Mobile's Sidekick mobile phone/PDA hybrid comes with removable rubberised bumpers and a $150 price tag in the US. You can pick one up for around £300 online in the UK.

If you're looking for a deal on a phone with good messaging and email features - perhaps for a younger user who might enjoy the colourful bumper options - the T-Mobile Sidekick iD could fit the bill.

T-Mobile Sidekick 2008

The Sidekick 2008 has the best cell-phone keyboard I've ever used, and its trackball lets you whip through messages at lightning speed. Even so, that ...

Best keyboard on a phone, Trackball makes for easy navigation

Poky EDGE network for data, Still doesn't support Word documents

The Sidekick 2008 isn't a bad phone — not at all. In fact, I wrote this entire review on its perfect little keyboard (in the body of an e-mail message, of course, since the phone doesn't support Word documents). It's just disappointing that after all...

Sidekick 4G review

It's been nearly two years since we last reviewed a T-Mobile Sidekick, and it would be a vast understatement to say things have changed. Then, they were

Stylish design ; Great QWERTY keyboard ; Fantastic value for the price

Smallish screen ; Social networking integration is flawed ; Slightly slower than Galaxy S handsets

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G review

You thought Sidekick was dead, did you? That'd be an easy assumption to make since Danger's servers are being turned off this month — and since it's the one of the most deeply-integrated cloud...

Stellar keyboard ; UI skin is, against all odds, not annoying ; Rock-solid hinge

Thick ; Plasticky ; Odd control / port placement (not a big deal for old Sidekick users)

Android has grown up — and T-Mobile’s lineup of Android devices is finally mature enough to support this kind of tightly-focused hardware

Review: Samsung Sidekick 4G

The Sidekick is reborn as a fast Android phone, but it's got a few too many quirks to succeed.

Physical keyboard will keep thumb warriors happy. Tons of media options and chat features keep you entertained and connected. Speedy 1-GHz Hummingbird processor gets things moving: Games like Angry Birds Rio don’t stutter in the slightest. Battery life...

Screen-popping mechanism is a bit tricky. Button placement is downright poor. The mix of onscreen-touch and physical-button navigation is perplexing and redundant. It takes a lot of work to get a good photo –- if I wanted to mess with that many...

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G has the best keyboard you'll find on any Android smartphone.

Excellent keyboard. Fast Internet. Well-built hardware. Unusual, great-looking UI design.

Awkwardly placed Power and Volume buttons. Some glitches in the setup app. Strong design flavor not for everyone.

Conclusions The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G isn't a Sidekick. The Sidekick was a device with a cool, simple OS and swiveling screen. That platform is dead. Instead, what we have here is a Sidekick-inspired Android phone with an awesome keyboard, a...

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G review

T-Mobile Sidekick users were probably a bit stunned when it was announced that data service for the popular messaging handheld would cease on May 31. Though the interruption of service is certainly inconvenient, it doesn't mean the end of the...

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G impresses with the addition of a touch screen and the Android operating system. The handheld also offers enhanced messaging features, great call quality, and a good camera.

The user interface won't appeal to everyone. The smartphone can occasionally be sluggish.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G continues the Sidekick's legacy as an excellent messaging device and also serves as a great entry-level smartphone.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

It's baaack. The T-Mobile Sidekick has returned (It00 with a two-year contract from T-Mobile; available April 20, 2011), and this time it has 4G speeds. As a former Sidekick LX user (and honestly, I kind of miss good physical keyboards), I was excited...

Superb keyboard ; Excellent messaging features

Design is a bit on the heavy and chunky side ; Camera is just average

The Sidekick might not have the specs to compete with some of the high-end super smartphones out there, but it is excellent for social networkers or first-time smartphone owners.

T-Mobile Sidekick 2008

This smartphone is a slimmer, sexier take on the Sidekick, but it's really meant for kids.
