Samsung SCH-i760 (Verizon Wireless) review: Samsung SCH-i760 (Verizon Wireless)

Editor's note: Ratings have been adjusted with respect to newer devices that have entered the market .

The Samsung SCH-i760 features a slider design with a full QWERTY keyboard, external dialpad, and touch screen. The Windows Mobile 6 smartphone also offers good performance and has integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and EV-DO; a 1.3-megapixel camera; and...

The i760 is bulky, and we wish there was a built-in scroll wheel. There's no support for Verizon's V Cast services, and it lacks Windows Live integration.

The Samsung SCH-i760 goes big (literally), delivering a solid set of features and good performance to Verizon customers looking for a business-centric smartphone.

Samsung SCH-i760 Review

Review: Samsung SCH-i760 - A Sturdy Business Smartphone

On paper, the SCH-i760 triumphs over the iPhone because of its no-compromise set of specs. It offers Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), EV-DO connectivity, a slide-out keyboard, Bluetooth, a 1.3mp camera, and a microSD memory card slot.

Corporate users will appreciate the Microsoft Push e-mail support, which allows live access from a company's mail server. While some sites have said this phone has A-GPS (network assisted GPS, which relies on the cellular network for positioning), it...

The i760 is available from Verizon for $349 after discounts and with a two-year commitment. Its looks are all business, but luckily so is its excellent feature set

Samsung SCH-i760 Review

Once you get to look at it for a little while, you start to realize that the i760 isn't nearly as visually unappealing as it seems in photos. To see most of the promotional images, you'd have to think that the device was darn ugly. And while it's not...

Well built ; Keyboard and numeric pad ; Good one-handed navigation in landscape ; Simple, businesslike design ; Easily usable as phone

Impractical one-handed nav in portrait mode ; microSD limitations ; Landscape video display bug

A reliable and well built Pocket PC phone that's more usable than the average, the Samsung i760 takes on many tasks and succeeds at most of them
