Samsung SCH-a930

Seductively dark, the Samsung SCH-a930 sounds good but falls short on data features.

Very good voice quality. Loud speakerphone. Good noise cancellation.

Poor data performance. Buggy Bluetooth.

Samsung SCH-a930

The beeper-like Samsung SCH-a930 downloads tunes over the air and looks cool doing it.

V CAST Music support • Voice recognition • Sharp camera • Dedicated music controls

Small external display • No stereo Bluetooth

Samsung SCH-A930 review

After introducing its V Cast Music downloading service earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, Verizon Wireless has steadily expanded its lineup of music phones . The options range from a simple upgrade to the LG VX8100 to the totally new...

The Samsung SCH-A930 has decent call quality and an attractive feature set that includes Bluetooth, EV-DO support, an external memory slot, a speakerphone, a megapixel camera, and a digital music player.

The Samsung SCH-A930 has an uninspiring design, and the external display is not suitable for such a full-featured phone. Plus, it suffers from spotty EV-DO reception.

The Samsung SCH-A930 makes a mostly good showing, but there are better choices in Verizon's EV-DO lineup.

Samsung SCH-A930 Review

Samsung A930 is a simple clamshell with internal antenna and unique vertical OLED external display. It has 1.3-megapixel camera with performance above the average and microSD slot for memory expansion for the mediocre music player

External Blue OLED Display ; Better-than-average 1.3MP Camera with Flash ; Voice Quality ; Internal Antenna

Reception not as good as other phones in fringe areas ; Low Quality Video Recording ; User Menu lacks customization

Samsung SCH-A930

Samsung's SCH-A930 is a dual-band CDMA cell phone for Verizon Wireless.  Clad in basic black with external music player controls, this flip phone is one of the less flashy looking handsets in Verizon's VCast-compatible line up.  Don't let the plain...

Samsung SCH-A930 Review

As the latest music phone to be released for Verizon Wireless, the Samsung SCH-A930 goes against popular trends, offering an alternative to the ultra-thin devices sweeping the marketplace

Samsung SCH-A930

The Samsung SCH-A930 is a phone that resembles many of the phones sitting atop today's market. It is a dark black color that only accentuates the clarity of its special functions and LCD screen's effectiveness. Samsung has made quite a name for itself...

The SCH-A930 weighs in at an efficient 113 grams, which is very impressive for a phone complete with a camera and other high-tech capabilities, such as Blue Tooth, external speakers, and the ability to stream video. The phone has a cool black exterior...

Still going after 5-1/2 years. Why get a new contract?

This phone has put up with a lot of abuse over the years and held up well. I currently get about 20 minutes talk time per charge if I'm in a good signal area. But hey, most batteries are designed to fail after 1-2 years. I don't text, surf, e-mail,game...

Compact, durable, Good basic phone. Speaker works OK. Time to change the original battery after 5+ years.

Camera picture quality limited (1 mgpxl). LED displays can be hard to read in the daylight. Replacement extended life batteries should include the cover.
