Samsung Galaxy Gio

The Korean tech firm Samsung's Galaxy range is populated by a variety of Android-operating inhabitants. TechSmart reviews one which is targeted at the first-time smartphone users or limited-budget crowd.

Really good display, very good photo quality from its budget 3.15 MP camera, nice compact size.

Video recording capability not as good as the stills, no flash for camera and plasticky design.

Samsung Galaxy Gio

The Galaxy Gio is the forgotten member of Samsung's 2011 line-up, seemingly overshadowed by the Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini. However, with its low-end price-tag and host of Android goodies - did the Galaxy Gio manage to grab our attention?

The Samsung Galaxy Gio is by no means a cutting-edge smartphone, and lets itself down with its poor camera smarts and lack of Flash support. Still, with its excellent screen and high-speed connectivity, it's a viable option for those in the market for...

Samsung Galaxy Gio

The Samsung Galaxy Gio is outstanding value for money, basically delivering last year's best smartphone experience in a cheaper, affordable package.

Outstanding performance ; Decent screen for the price ; Full range of connectivity and software

A well-rounded Android 2.2 (Froyo) device; Affordable

No full Flash support

While known as "jewel" in Italian, the Samsung Galaxy Gio does not quite possess the shine and luxury but at the price point of RM 799, it’s still a pretty good deal if you’re looking for a middle range Android device. However as mentioned in the...

With an amazing 3.2 inch TFT touch screen, 800MHz processor, Android 2.2, 3MP camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, the smartphone is a complete entertainment package. However, Samsung Galaxy Gio’s processor could easily have been 1GHz and the OS Android 2.4, but overall...
