Samsung Captivate review

We review the Samsung Captivate, AT&T's upcoming Galaxy S superphone

Super-AMOLED display is amazing ; Battery life is amazing

Samsung Android UI is cheesy at times ; Case is platicky

The Samsung Captivate is, without question, the best Android smartphone AT&T has to offer. Considering AT&T does have very many Android phones, that might not be saying very much.

Samsung Galaxy S review shootout: Captivate for AT&T and Vibrant for T-Mobile

We've got to hand it to Samsung with its Galaxy S line. Coordinating the launch of a single family of devices across all four national US carriers (plus a regional or two) is a feat very rarely accomplished, and usually reserved for really unique...

Amazing display ; Thin and sexy ; Swype included, works well

Typical AT&T gimping ; Seems slow considering processor ; Questionable battery life

Samsung Captivate (AT&T)

The Samsung Captivate delivers Android super-phone power to AT&T subscribers.

Fast. Powerful processor. Bright, beautiful screen. PC syncing options.

Media store not ready yet. No voice dialing over Bluetooth. No flash on camera.

Media and Conclusions The Captivate is a terrific media device, and it's only going to get better. The phone ships with a somewhat mysterious stub for Samsung Media Hub, a promised music-and-movie store which will have big-name content when it launches...

Samsung Captivate (AT&T) review

Editors' note: We have updated the review and ratings since the original publish date to reflect new devices on the market. Portions of the User Interface section were taken from our review of the Samsung Vibrant since both phones share the TouchWiz...

The Samsung Captivate features a gorgeous Super AMOLED screen, a 1GHz processor, 16GB of onboard memory, and it has an expansion slot. The Android 2.1 device also offers great call quality, full wireless options, and a HD video capture.

AT&T won't let you sideload apps to the phone; camera lacks a flash.

The Samsung Captivate is easily AT&T's best Android phone to date. It delivers great performance, tons of features, and an easy-to-use interface.

Samsung Captivate

This spring, Samsung introduced the first of its Galaxy S phones, Android powerhouses to rival the HTC EVO 4G, the various Droids (both Motorola's and HTC's), and of course, the iPhone 4. AT&T's version of the Galaxy S, the Samsung Captivate ($200 with...

Stunning Super AMOLED Display ; Thin and lightweight design

Can't install third-party apps ; Performance can be a bit sluggish

The Samsung Captivate has a dazzling display and a bevy of multimedia and social networking features.

Samsung Captivate

Thanks to its jaw-dropping display and good performance, this high-end Android phone finally gives AT&T customers a worthy iPhone alternative.

The fact that the Samsung Captivate is the best Android phone on AT&T almost goes without saying. The combination of its Super AMOLED screen, 1-GHz processor, and HD video recording make it a no-brainer. But is it better than the competition? We prefer...

Samsung Captivate (AT&T)

Attention Android fans: you can finally call AT&T home. Although the carrier's Google phone lineup has been somewhat lackluster thus far with the awkward Motorola Backflip and capable but tiny HTC Aria, the Samsung Captivate (part of the Galaxy S...

Samsung Captivate vs. Apple iPhone 4

Try as they may, Android's push with AT&T has yet to compare to the level seen with other carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon as they boast some of the most eclectic mix of high-end Android smartphones that can quench the needs of many. For the last few...
