Palm Treo 680 review

Back to basics with Palm-powered 680 smartphone

Touchscreen smartphone ; Qwerty keyboard ; Full suite of software

No built-in Wi-Fi ; Lacks 3G operation ; Low resolution of camera

Palm weighs in with a capable smartphone at a decent price

Palm Treo 680 smartphone - Pocket-lint

QWERTY keyboard, quad-band

Digital camera not up to standard, keyboard fiddly to use, bulky

Like the 750v Palm is hoping to stem the huge success of RIM’s BlackBerry, especially the company's consumer friendly BlackBerry Pearl with the 680 however compared to both the handset is a let down.

Palm Treo 500 review

The Palm Treo 500 is the first of the Treo smartphones that breaks with tradition in terms of the PDA handset design.

A superb smartphone that feels solid in the hand but is less bulky than previous models, the Palm Treo 500 is a superior handset. It's not quite shaken off the PDA feel that would give it mainstream consumer appeal, but it's a fully featured business...

Palm Treo 500

When you have a Palm Treo 500, you won't need a laptop to stay connected. This smartphone allows you to email, chat through Instant Messaging, browse the web, organise your tasks, play music, as well as record video and audio chunks. Comes with a sleek...

This is a business phone poorly disguised as a business PDA. If you have to pick a Windows Mobile phone for work, though, you could do a lot worse. Palm Treo 500 is tagged with Palm Treo, handheld and Smartphone. Select a tag (Palm Treo, for example)...

Palm Treo 500

It says Palm on the front and runs Windows under the hood, but is this latest phone from the inventor of the PDA any good?

Latest version of Windows Mobile / solid construction

Looks like a child's toy / terrible camera

The trouble is that Palm has always focused primarily on the business market, and while past phones like the Treo 650 and 700 have been very good and praised by reviewers like me, they were grey, boring and lacked the entertainment and media features...

Palm Treo 500

Touch screen phones have perhaps moved forward faster thanks to devices like the HTC Touch Dual and HTC Diamond. However, whilst the keyboard-less experience may be beneficial to some, others will prefer a QWERTY messaging device like this

Palm Treo 680 Review

The Treo 680 is Palms replacement to the 650 and with it brings cosmetic changes but lacks the connectivity options that are present in modern smartphones.

The Palm Treo 680 we feel is a good product if you can live without the lack of Wifi or 3G support. It offers a great range of software and good screen quality.

Palm Treo 680

It is a good two years since the last Palm OS Treo handset arrived in the UK, and casual watchers could have been forgiven that we had seen the back of it on the Treo range. But the Treo 680 shows that reports of its demise have been exaggerated

Good connectivity, Touchscreen smartphone, Qwerty keyboard, Full suite of software

Not very moveable, No built-in Wi-Fi, Lacks 3G operation, Low resolution of camera

Palm weighs in with a capable smartphone at a decent price

Palm Treo 680

This latest Palm handheld uses similar hardware to the Palm Treo 750v, so most of our favourable comments about ergonomics apply. The main difference is that the 680 runs Palm OS version 5.4.9 (Garnet), including a new phone application sporting a...
