Nokia N-Gage QD review

Can the N-Gage Mark II take on the portable gaming superpowers of PSP or DS Lite? What do you think?

The PSP and DS Lite can sleep safefly in their beds; this pretender to the throne isn’t a killer games phone. It is, however, a mighty cheap way to get yourself a smartphone

Nokia N-Gage QD

Is Nokia's gaming phone still a contender in an age of 3G-compatible handsets?

If you want more from your mobile phone gaming, there's very little else that comes close

Nokia N-Gage QD

The first Nokia attempt to produce a multi-purpose device encompassing the portable gaming-console and the phone's function has failed. Nokia N-gage was already heard of at the end of the year 2002 although it entered the marked only in the fall 2003....

Nevertheless, the failure of the first Nokia N-gage gaming console does not mean the failure of the entire N-gage QD project. This was the first model in the series only. The company has enough time to work on the blunders and eliminate the disadvantages

N-Gage QD

It looks the part, it acts the part, and is a huge improvement over the Mark 1 device. It's not perfect, but then, what device is nowadays?

After the launch in late April, we've been looking forward to the QD actually arriving, in its retail packaging, so we can use it day to day in anger - to see what it can really do.

Nokia N-Gage QD (as smart phone)

The Nokia N-Gage QD—that's a gaming phone, isn't it?

Easy access to hot-swap games (unlike first-generation model). Smaller size and better controls than its predecessor.

Limited audio options (including no radio and no MP3 playback). Limited game library. No longer a tri-band phone.

Nokia N-Gage QD (T-Mobile) review

Nokia N-Gage QD (T-Mobile)

Compact, rugged design; easy to change game cards; built-in Bluetooth and speakerphone; synchronizes with Outlook; solid battery life.

No MP3 player or FM radio; small screen; not a world phone; mono sound; could be louder.

Nokia's N-Gage QD second-generation gaming cell phone corrects the most glaring mistakes of its predecessor.

Nokia N-Gage QD

With new handheld systems on the way from both Nintendo and Sony, the newly streamlined QD faces a huge uphill battle in trying to attract users enough to commit to the platform.

Easy access to hot-swap games (unlike first-generation model). Smaller size and better controls than its predecessor.

Limited audio options (including no radio and no MP3 playback). Limited game library. No longer a tri-band phone.

Review of the N-Gage QD

Pocket Lint has one of the first actual hands-on reviews of the N-Gage QD, Nokia's new version of the star-crossed N-Gage gamephone they introduced last year. The QD seems almost quaint now that the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable...

Nokia N-Gage QD

Nokia's upgraded its N-Gage portable gaming phone. We take a look in our Australian review.

Improved interface ; No more side talking ; Easy game swapping ; Better battery life than the original N-Gage

MP3 and Radio functionality gone ; No tri-band GSM ; Games library still small ; Expensive in terms of a games device
