Nokia 9500 Communicator

The Nokia Communicator range as slowly evolved over the last five years, but has the phone become just another culprit of the yearly update or has the latest version actually got something worth shouting about?

Widescreen access for visiting web pages, qwerty keyboard, Wi-Fi

Looks like a brick

An old lecturer of mine once said “You might have the best idea in the world but it's poorly presented you wont be able to sell it to anyone.”

Nokia 9500 Communicator

If there are things that the Nokia 9300 lacks, then the 9500 has them. It has the same operating system (Symbian 7.0s Series 80), similar software and...

Nice software, full keyboard, support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, tri-band, good screens

The price, the size and weight, the battery life

A very good phone in terms of features, but way too large and heavy for most people.

Nokia 9500 review: Communication expert

We have been waiting for the new Nokia Communicator for three and a half years. And here it is – being just launched, fulfilling all our expectations. This communicator has everything it is supposed to have. It supports EDGE, Bluetooth and even Wi-Fi....

Nowadays with all the manufacturers offering dozens of new phones it seems almost unbelievable that Nokia comes out with its new communicator after three and a half years selling the old model only. To make it even more interesting I would mention the...

Nokia 9500 Communicator

The most apt analogy for the Nokia 9500 Communicator is a luxury SUV with a four-cylinder engine--big, comfortable, slow, and expensive.

Excellent screen. Good Web browser. Good office suite.

Slow. Expensive. Bulky. Poor EDGE speeds.

Nokia 9500 Communicator - Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

The Nokia 9500 and its little brother, the Nokia 9300 series, are the successors to Nokia's last generation of Communicator devices such as the 9290 Communicator. The new generation of devices continues to target the enterprise market with a wide...

It’s like having an office in your pocket. The 640 x 200 widescreen display makes viewing documents, web sites and email a pleasure. The QWERTY keyboard with dedicated number row and quick launch buttons are a rare find on a cell phone. Phone reception...

The device is very large and heavy, and it certainly won’t fit in your shirt pocket. Web browsing is slow, even using WiFi thanks to the relatively slow CPU. No push email support and no IM client bundled. No 850Mhz band makes this a poor choice for...

A full-featured communications device backed by a solid hardware built and a large library of Symbian applications. Large screen, software suite and the QWERTY keyboard give road warriors an experience that's closer to a mini-laptop.
