Nokia 6234 review

Nokia's first Vodafone exclusive makes the most of Live!

Easy menu navigation ; Easy to get 3G multimedia downloads ; Full-screen video playback

Lack of front-facing camera option ; Control keys not clearly marked ; No face-to-face video calling ability

Music and video-wise, it's a first class handset that will definitely keep you entertained. The N-series is slightly better though.

Nokia 6234 - 3G Handset

Nokia's first 3G handset exclusive to Vodafone is small and light, but also a bit light on features.

Press the camera activation button on the bottom right edge of the handset and the screen becomes a landscape format viewfinder, with the shutter button resting comfortably under the right forefinger and the two softmenu buttons and navigation button...

Nokia 6234 3G Phone Review

If you are looking for ease of use and sleek design you won't get much better than the Nokia 6234, but it isn't going to be all things to all people.

Small enough for most pockets, easy to use, good camera.

No front facing camera, little on board memory.

This handset should appeal to those wanting 3G data access but not needing face to face video calling, and it is very comfortable to use. Not really recommended if you want to listen to music through your phone, though

Nokia 6234

The Vodafone-exclusive Nokia 6234 is a capable, music-centric mobile phone that performs its core tasks well. At the same time, it's really nothing that exciting.

Storage for up to 1,000 music tracks ; Simple interface ; Good display ; 2-megapixel camera

USB cable not provided ; Low internal memory for a music phone ; Only a single camera

At the same time, bearing in mind the charges associated with downloading music from the Live service, you could pay an awful lot for your music. As an example, we were charged $2.79 per track for every music track we tested with. Filling a 2GB card,...

Snapshot: Nokia 6234

Nokia and Vodafone introduced the 6234, the latest GSM/WCDMA handset from the two companies. While it shares a lot of design traits with the 6233 that was also unveiled today, the 6234 has its own look and has been tailored for use on Vodafone's networks.

Nokia 6234

Good, clear menus. Firm buttons - I find the buttons on some phones very spongey but these are great. This is one of the main reasons I bought the phone, aswell as its compact nature

On/off button tempramental. Not great

Easy to navigate menus, has useful features, well designed, looks good

Synchronisation with PC can be frustrating. Doesn't always synchronise with Outlook correctly

Nokia 6234

Ease of connection to both my PC and builtin hands free. Very simple to connect with my Vauxhall Bluetooth system

Battery life is not as good as it could be.. That said, provided that there is signal then the battery life is excellent due to power saving modes on the phone turning off the screen (takes some getting used to). However if like me you live in an area...
