Moto G 2 (2014)

Motorola's second-gen Moto G still sets the bar for other budget phones

Much-improved camera ; Strong battery life ; Solid, well-built design ; Excellent value for money

No 4G LTE support ; Average front-facing speakers ; So-so low-light photos

and £500 Samsung Galaxy Alpha, it's not as bright as either. It still easier to view outdoors than most cheap phones, but it's a small sour note in otherwise excellent performance.

Moto G (2014) review

The Moto G is dead! Long live the Moto G!

Superb value ; Improved camera ; Big screen for the price ; Decent display quality

Lower sharpness than 2013 Moto G ; Slightly disappointing battery life ; A little chunky ; Average sound quality

The 2014 Motorola Moto G doesn't flatten last year's model in every respect. It's bigger and less comfortable to hold but a much-improved camera and larger screen make it a worthwhile update.

Motorola Moto G (2014) review: Hands-on

Motorola's affordable smartphone gets some high-end features

Motorola Moto G (2014) review

Motorola announced the original Moto G in November last year and it ended up becoming one of the greatest phones of 2013 thanks to its performance, lovely design and, perhaps most importantly, a budget £135 price tag. The price was the key to the...

Brilliant price, good display, improved camera, good battery life, great performance in this class

No 4G , no NFC, bulkier design from larger screen format, average sound, front-facing speaker bar design

The price was the key to the original Moto G's success and we suspect it will be a similar story for the 2014 model too. For £150 you get a lot for your money, including a decent display, very good battery life, ample performance and an improved...

Moto G2 (2014) vs Moto E comparison review

Ok, the new 2014 Moto G isn't actually called the Moto G2 but it's easy to get confused so in this article we're going to call it by that name. It's also worth noting that Motorola updated the original Moto G with 4G and a microSD card slot (nothing...

It's unsurprising that the Moto G2 is a better phone than the Moto E and we recommend spending the extra if you can afford it for the better screen, camera, processor, storage, battery life and stereo speakers. The one caveat is that neither phone...

Moto G vs Moto G2 (2014) comparison review

First things first, the new 2014 Moto G isn't actually called the Moto G2. It's still just called the Moto G but that's confusing so to make it easier, we're going to call it the G2 in this article. It's also worth noting that Motorola updated the...

The new Motorola Moto G (2014) has a larger screen, better cameras and front facing stereo speakers. Pretty much everything else remains the same so there are only a few upgrades here and the dual-SIM feature will be only useful to a handful of users....

Motorola Moto G 2014 review

No sooner than Motorola updated the original Moto G with 4G and a microSD card, there's another update: the Moto G. That's right – a completely new smartphone with the same name. Confusing, much.

With a bigger screen, much better speakers and improved cameras, the new Moto G is a great budget smartphone. The lack of support for 4G will be a deal-breaker for some, though. It isn't without its rivals, but if you're specifically looking for a...

Glorious HD screen

No 4G support

If you skipped the rest of our lovely prose just to read our verdict on the Motorola New Moto G, then how very dare you. But it’s no big surprise that Motorola has once again smashed down its affordable rivals with a great-value mobile, which takes the...

Motorola Moto G review and Moto G 4G LTE review

Despite over nine months elapsing since we originally reviewed it, the Motorola Moto G remains the best budget Android smartphone we've seen. Recently, Motorola released an updated model, adding support for 4G and expandable storage via a microSD card....

Motorola's Moto G is the best budget smartphone around. At £135 it's got great build quality, an excellent screen, decent cameras and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean soon to be upgrade to 4.4 KitKat. It's only limited in the storage department and a lack of 4G...
