Motorola C168i (AT&T) review

Motorola C168i AT&T's Go phone service has long been a solid source for basic cell phones that just make calls. Handsets such as the Motorola C168i aren't complicated by a fancy design or expensive features; rather, they bear a simple design and do...

The Motorola C168i is an easy-to-use cell phone, and it offers decent quality. It also has an impressive battery talk time.

The Motorola C168i lacks a speakerphone, and you can't assign ringtones to callers. Also, the audio sounded fuzzy at times.

The Motorola C168i is a basic functional phone, but it's almost a little too simple.

Keep your expectations low. This is just a small, basic phone for a great price.

Excellent batery life, though not quite as good as advertised (6 days without usage; 4 days with usage). Good voice/microphone quality. Durable (dropped it, scratched it, battery has never fallen-out) ; Keypad is lockable. Alarms are easy to set up

Wish it used mini-usb to charge (has a ~3mm pin instead). Keys are small and difficult to press, even for a person with average-size fingers

Good for U.S.

This is a basic phone. No bells. No whistles. I bought this to use overseas with prepaid cards in the countries I go to. Well. It didn't connect and didn't like the sim cards I installed. So. I am will keep this as a back up to my blackberry.

Small. Worked with no issues. Comes with charger and instructions

Good basic phone

Purchased to take on vacation so I would have to worry about my BlackBerry getting damaged or stolen

Was cheaper than getting a prepaid phone just to put my SIM in

Motorola C168i Black Unlocked GSM Bar Phone w/ Up To 14days Standby Time Bulk Package - OEM

Makes phone calls, like a phone should ; Has basic 'extra features' like a Calculator, Calendar, and a couple games

No speakerphone ; AT&T branded (load screen and logo on the phone) even though it's unlocked

Small & Basic

Basic cheap unlocked phone for us as a backup or a phone for children

No bluetooth. Maybe too for a bar phone - screen is small, keyboard is small, phone is small

Good Basic Phone

If you're looking for a basic phone (IE: one without a camera) and don't need anything beyond calling or texting, this is a pretty good choice.

Price, monolith (non-flip) construction, lightweight, compact. Decent speaker too (I think that must be a quality of most Motorola phones)

Small buttons, but I'm getting used to it
