Motorola Admiral (Sprint) review

Unlike the fancy and attention-grabbing Motorola Droid Razr , the Motorola Admiral is a middle-of-the-line phone, designed not to wow but to provide a working mobile commutation solution. And it does that job very well, with good call quality and zippy...

Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the Motorola Admiral offers snappy performance, decent call quality, a QWERTY keyboard, and a scratch-resistant 3.1-inch touch screen. It also supports push-to-talk, and its durable design will withstand harsh...

The Motorola Admiral's photo and video quality could be better. The phone comes with just 4GB of internal storage and doesn't support 4G.

Responsive, functional, and tough, the Motorola Admiral makes a great workhorse phone, especially for anyone working in a tough environment. BlackBerry users will also find it a smooth transition if they want to move to the Android platform.

Motorola Admiral (Sprint)

The Motorola Admiral is the best push-to-talk smartphone on Sprint.

Good voice quality. Great QWERTY keyboard. Rugged. Long battery life. Direct Connect allows for much better data speeds than iDEN.

Average camera. Occasional headphone hiss.

You need to be in a Sprint coverage area in order to use the Admiral, but you can still make push-to-talk calls to iDEN subscribers. Push-to-talk quality is excellent. I placed a call from one Direct Connect device to another. The response was nearly...

Motorola Admiral Review

The Motorola Admiral is Sprint's first smartphone running Push-to-Talk on the company's CDMA network. This Android device runs Gingerbread, sports a portrait QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera with HD recording all wrapped in a rugged body. This...

"Not much of a "smart phone""

Having problems with the phone function of a "smart phone" doesn't bode well for the long term success of a phone. I should be able to hang up a call and then be able to call another person but the phone locks up and takes 90 seconds to make the call...

Very durable and easy to use. Screen is clear and reponsive to touch. The keyboard works very well considering my move over from a Blackberry.

Phone drops calls and takes 90 seconds after dial button is pushed to make calls. If you push it a second time within that 90 seconds, a second call is made thus turning your call into a conference call. The phone repeatedly locks up and needs to be

I love my Admiral.

I LOVE my admiral. Granted, I am new to smartphones and I understand there are much more sophisticated ones out there. But for me, it does its job well and fits my needs. I was a Nextel costumer. And I mainly was one because I have family in South...

Fast enough processor. Calls are clear. Direct Connect works. International Direct Connect works well. Browsing is fast enough. No problems with emails. Nice Motorola and Android widgets that helps functionality. Easy to hold in my hands.

Very minor one, is the power button (on/off). A few times I powered it off, put it in my pocket, and the button easily gets pressed thus turning it back on. But then again, I am probably one of a few people who sometimes powers the phone off.

"Not as durable as advertised. Very disappointed."

I had it one week when I barely dropped it and the screen cracked. I am also not very impressed by the OS. It is definitely not very intuitive and lacks some of the features I would like and expect in a smartphone. I also found that some of the...

Good battery life. Lots of apps. Decent speakers. Wifi connection. Remote connection.

Not durable. Key-board is hard to work Usability is poor. 3G is often slow. Not intuitive. Problems with people hearing me because of low bars.

I really loved this phone. As someone coming from one of the prior smartphones sprint had, had (Hero) I saw much improvement of this with the physical keyboard. I unfortunately had a loss of service in my area, and had to return the phone after using...
