LG Optimus One P500 review

LG's Optimus One P500 is a great example of an affordable yet highly functional Google Android smartphone.

A responsive touchscreen and the latest version of the Google Android OS make the LG Optimus One smartphone great value for money.

LG has got in on the Android 2.2 act early with a budget-busting model looking to tempt smartphone fans

The overall best of the budgets – for the moment at least

The screen is surrounded by a lot of dead space, save for the required Menu, Home and Back buttons, and an extra zoom button for your convenience. The cheap-but-serviceable theme continues around the back with a curving plastic rear culminating in a...

Absolutely fantastic especially for the cost. I bought mine brand new off of ebay for £130. And as for Android.... far better than ios. Even my friends are making the leap to Android 2.2(Froyo) from Apple.

Great lineup of sat-nav features including voice control and directions, excellent email and especially Gmail, good value for money

Low-res screen makes webpages look worse than other Android devices, some clunky software, design is pretty average veering on low-rent

Review: LG Optimus One P500 Android smartphone

Lightweight, Excellent battery life, Comes with Android 2.2 Froyo, Responsive multitouch screen, Runs well with the standard full connectivity package

Cheap plastic and rubbery feel, Small display, Not suitable for graphically demanding applications, Low megapixel camera without flash or a dedicated camera key

As a budget Android, we found the LG Optimus One P500 to be highly capable of supporting many of the daily tasks that you’d expect to perform with more higher end phones. Its a reliable device for supporting most productivity and basic multimedia needs...

LG P500 Optimus One review

LG recently launched their first Android 2.2 device in South Africa at a very competitive price, but do you get what you pay for?

The Optimus One isn’t a perfect device, far from it in fact, but for R2,499 you’re getting a lot of phone for your Rand.

Undemanding and pleasant, but HTC's low and mid-range offerings outclass it

Android 2.2 at its core, small, slim and sturdy

Poor screen, HTC Legend is a similar price and size

LG Optimus One P500

Not everyone in the world is looking for the latest, greatest smartphone in the world, but at the same time many of us are tempted by all that extra functionality. Luckily, as each year's technology is replaced by the next, so the ‘old' becomes cheaper...

Simple and efficient, modest yet elegant

A little slow, not the best screen

If it looks like we’re painting a rosy picture of the LG Optimus One P500, that’s because we are. No, it isn’t the greatest smartphone on the market, but then it never set out to be. What it does achieve is being a fully functioned smartphone with all...
