LG Octane (Verizon Wireless)

The LG Octane is a modestly refreshed successor to the popular LG enV3, but the enV series' star is fading.

Bright, colorful screens. Roomy, tactile QWERTY keyboard. Solid build quality and hinge. Excellent battery life.

Dated UI. Below-average voice quality. Non-standard headphone jack. Uneven messaging options.

Camera and Conclusions The 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera includes an LED flash. Test photos were colorful and well balanced both indoors and out. Fine tree branches and a brick patio looked good, and there wasn't too much noise in dimmer indoor...

LG Octane (Verizon Wireless) review

The LG Octane might as well be dubbed the LG EnV4, as it looks almost like a successor to the LG EnV series of messaging phones for Verizon Wireless. Sure the design is a little different, but the overall form factor is the same--it has dual displays,...

The LG Octane is a simple messaging phone with EV-DO, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and more. It has a great keyboard, dual displays, and an external number keypad.

The LG Octane is a bit bulky, and it doesn't have a 3.5mm headset jack.

The LG Octane is a great messaging phone for Verizon Wireless.

LG Octane Review

The LG enV series has been quite popular and successful for Verizon Wireless, as we saw last year with the of the LG enV3 and enV Touch models. But since then the landscape has changed and smartphones are now all the rage, though there are still plenty...

LG Octane Reviewed

The LG Octane is almost a successor to the LG EnV series of phones. Featuring a very similar look and feel, the Octane is a sturdy and solid messaging phone. However, does the bulky keyboard cause it to fall flat?

Overall, the LG Octane, coming in at $99 after a $50 rebate and a 2 year contract, is an "Average" phone. For a messaging phone, the LG Octane pretty much has all the features it needs. The only big downside is that you may have to invest in some new...

LG Octane Review by Sydney

Overview: The Good: Fantastic QWERTY keyboard; solid build quality; excellent battery life. The Bad: Mediocre camera performance; 2.5mm headphone jack

Mediocre camera performance; 2.5mm headphone jack

Now that the enV 3, enV Touch, and Samsung Reality are all gone from Verizon's messaging phone line-up, the Octane is easily the best device in this category. The camera was a little disappointing, but I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is...

Review: LG Octane

LG's latest clamshell messenger phone claims to have high "Octane" performance. Does the phone earn its race-inspired name?

Consumer review (cnet.com)

perfect for those who text a lot

I absolutely love this phone. I've had it for about a year and it was an upgrade from an LG env3 (also a good phone). This is basically the newest version of the env3, so if you've ever had an env and liked it, you'll love this phone. I basically only...

- easy texting - great call quality - easy navigation - full QWERTY keyboard - e-mail - well made, won't break easily (good if you drop your phone a lot!)

- camera isn't very good - video recording isn't very good - Internet browsing is slow - slightly bulky
