HTC U11 Life review

HTC's new phone is like a U11 Mini with Android One making it a simple and solid mid-range phone. Find out more in our full review.

Overall, the HTC U11 Life is a solid mid-range phone. Design and specs are largely decent for the price – especially getting 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM as standard. Meanwhile Android One keeps software clean and simple if that's what you're after....

HTC U11 Life review

The HTC U11 Life is caught right in the middle of being a great deal and not quite worth your time. For a fraction of the price of the full-size and fully-powered U11 , the smaller U11 Life has the same supple look in a beautiful blue body and the same...

The HTC U11 Life is like a cheaper Pixel 2 with its squeezable sides. It's attractive, affordable, fully water-resistant and has decent midrange specs.

Camera quality is hit or miss and battery life is on the short side.

HTC's U11 Life is a decent midrange phone, but the Moto G5 Plus shoots better photos for a little less.

HTC U11 Life review: Hands-on with the U11’s affordable squeeze

The HTC U11 Life offers a stripped down, cheaper alternative to the U11

Elsewhere, HTC has cooked up a strong contender for mid-range smartphone of the year. Its specifications are intriguing, and its design is excellent, but whether it can nudge 2017’s excellent mid-rangers off the top spot remains to be seen.

HTC U11 Life review: Hands-on with HTC’s budget squeeze

A budget phone with elements of the high-end – HTC could be onto a winner with its latest handset

The one thing I haven’t covered so far is the price. It's a highly reasonable £349 but, at that price, there is some pretty strong competition. Phones like the Honor 9, the Motorola Moto Z2 Play and the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) all offer strong...

HTC U11 Life

The unlocked U11 Life takes its design cues and many features from HTC's flagship phone and offers them for a midrange price.

Solid performance. Unique squeeze sensor. Multiple built-in voice assistants. Waterproof. Solid bundled earphones.

Average battery life. No headphone jack.

For $349 unlocked, the U11 Life is a solid midrange phone that offers many of the same features as the flagship U11 for a much more affordable price. It's a good choice for audiophiles and HTC aficionados. But for $50 more, the Motorola Moto X4 has a...

HTC U11 Life review: A mid-range phone that punches above its class

HTC's U11 Life has the features of a premium phone but costs half as much.

Good price point for the features. ; Excellent audio through the bundled USB-C headphones. ; Edge Sense way more fun than Active Edge on the Pixel 2.

Battery is a bit on the small side. ; No headphone jack. ; Camera can be slow to focus, especially in low-light situations.

Right off the bat, if you’re a Verizon or Sprint customer, you can forget about the U11 Life unless you want to switch carriers. The phone is launching as a T-Mobile exclusive, though HTC told me that unlocked handsets bought through HTC.com will play...

HTC U11 Life review

You'll love HTC's U11 Life before you even realize it's a bargain.

Affordable ; Good design ; Bluetooth 5, NFC ; Solid performance ; IP67 water-resistance

No headphone jack ; Camera has slight shutter lag ; Battery could be better

HTC’s U11 Life will catch your eyes with its sapphire gleam, and your wallet will thank you. It offers great performance and water resistance, though the battery is average and the camera is hindered by shutter lag.

HTC U11 Life review: The U11's affordable cousin is one of the best mid-rangers

The HTC U11 is fantastic so releasing a less expensive version that checks all of the key boxes makes sense. The HTC U11 Life is one of the best in a growing sub-$400 mid-range smartphone market that challenges today's flagships priced at least twice...
