HTC Shift review

Folded up and ready for transit, the HTC Shift is a touchscreen tablet wrapped in a leather a shell. However, the screen slides up and even tilts backwards at an angle, which makes this unit a versatile mobile computer that you can easily use either...

While this isn't a true mobile-phone/lapto hybrid (it doesn't have mobile-phone capability), the HTC Shift is a great, but mighty expensive mini-notebook built for business and data-centric tasks. The high price tag may be appropriate for business...

HTC Shift

Before I start I must make something clear. This is not a phone. Sure, you can probably make calls on it if you really want to, but the SIM card slotting into this baby is mainly for your internet connection. We must also clear up a few misc...

I like the Shift. It’s well designed, strong and intelligent. Most mobile workers using “normal laptops” will sap a lot of their battery just checking email, so to have a Windows Mobile front-end which does all this without having to load up Vista is a...

HTC - Shift

HTC's Shift is a strange hybrid of a device. Announced before Asus's EeePC was heard of, and so before its myriad of followers hit the streets, and before Intel's Atom processor for small format devices was ...

The Shift proves you can put Vista in an inadequately small and underpowered computer and bring it to market. But that doesn't mean it is worth buying.

HTC makes a Shift

Ultra mobile PCs are beginning to make a big splash in the computing scene and HTC is not one to be left out of this exciting new product segment.

Lightweight ; able to run normal Windows applications ; multiple connectivity options ; handwriting recognition software works great

SnapVUE has limited features ; Qwerty keyboard is too small and difficult to type on

Still, the HTC Shift is a great device when you are not in office and need to access your important documents quick and efficiently while on the go.

HTC Shift X9500

Is it a phone? Is it a laptop? Sasha Muller attempts to find out if HTC's much-anticipated mobile device has been worth the very long wait.

HTC might be best known for its range of Windows Mobile-powered smartphones and PDAs, but its latest offering, the Shift, hopes to inject some new life into the flagging UMPC market.Even if the considerable price tag doesn't give enough of a clue as to...

Review: HTC Shift

Ultra-mobile PCs are the awkward middle children of gadgets. They're constantly trying to assume the notable attributes of their older and younger siblings, but almost...

Built-in CDMA WWAN radio, which lets you access Sprint’s data network when out of WiFi range. Microsoft Origami software offers a decent touchscreen experience

Truly horrendous keyboard makes typing anything but short burst messages out of the question. Performance slower than a tortoise full of rigor mortis. No ethernet jack. One USB port. Wrapped in tacky leather. Way overpriced
