HTC One Max

The HTC One gets a bigger brother. But is it better too?

Great screen for video and gaming, Solid camera, Decent speakers

Awkward to use, Fingerprint scanner not reliable enough, Not as good-looking as HTC One

HTC One Max review

The One gets supersized - but does it impress?

Larger screen ; Longer battery ; MicroSD slot

Older CPU ; Expensive ; Unwieldy ; Pointless fingerprint scanner

The HTC One Max is almost identical to the One, but with a bigger screen. There's been no attempt to make use of that upgraded size, and given the new features will be appearing on the One in the near future, this means the One Max has very few unique...

HTC One Max

The One Max is a fine performer but it could make better use of its bigger screen

Sharp screen ; Great stereo speakers ; Gorgeous UI ; Expandable storage ; camera

Less premium design ; Doesn’t bring the benefits that some do to that large screen

Overall, the HTC One Max doesn’t quite sweep us off our feet in the same way its smaller sibling did.

HTC One max review

The HTC One max is the third member of the One family, joining the HTC One and the HTC One mini. This time, however, HTC pushes well into phablet territory with a device that offers a 5.9-inch display, wrapped in the aluminium body that characterises...

Great display, good looks from that One design, BoomSound is still impressive, enhanced user interface from Sense 5.5, microSD card expansion

Nothing specific that uses the size, fingerprint scanner's location makes it difficult not to swipe the camera lens, it just feels too big, back cover fit is perhaps a weakness, loses optical image stabilisation in camera

The phablet category of devices is an odd one. The home of giant phones that haven't quite reached tablet sizes, and the HTC One max finds itself nestled into this awkward pack. For those looking for a big smartphone experience, then that's what the...

HTC One Max Review: In Depth

NB: HTC provided a pre-production unit for this review. It's extremely close to the finished product, but the fact remains that the device we're reviewing is different...

HTC One Max review

Let's deal with the elephant in the room: the HTC One Max is big. Big, big, big. In moving up to what might be broadly termed the 6in phablet category, HTC has avoided any complicated redesign and taken the rather nice HTC One and made it bigger....

It won't be for everyone, but if you want a big phone (and we mean BIG), you could do a lot worse than the HTC One Max. This is a serious performer that is built to look good and last.

HTC One Max review

A bigger, fingerprint reading version of the HTC One should be nerd nirvana. But has HTC got its phablet sums right?

Beautiful screen, once again ; Sense 5.5 and really useful BlinkFeed ; Expandable storage, huge battery

Doesn’t quite match build of HTC One ; No stylus ; Heavy and big so could spell pocket trouble

Gorgeous screen, slick Sense and superb battery life but the max doesn’t quite master its phablet maths

HTC One Max review, handling the massive

The launch of the original Samsung Galaxy Note a few years ago kick started a growing trend for larger sized displays on smartphones with a number of different company's joining the party, and today we have an HTC One Max review as we are handling the...

HTC One Max (Verizon Wireless)

The HTC One Max is a nice extra-large phablet that lends itself to on-the-go media consumption, but otherwise doesn't justify its giant size.

The HTC One Max on Verizon has all the same strengths and flaws as its Sprint counterpart. The display and speakers are awesome, but the fingerprint reader is simply a gimmick. On top of that, the One Max still doesn’t really add anything truly useful...
