HTC One M9 review

A luxury design that forgets about the basics

Premium design ; Strong camera

Pricey ; Battery not good enough ; Too few improvements from M8

A great phone if you're upgrading from two years ago, but doesn't deliver enough changes to be worthy of a perfect score.

HTC One M9 review: Distracted by refinement - Pocket-lint

There's no doubting the high quality and excellent build of the M9, but in many ways, this is an incremental update of the previous device. The camera

Build quality, BoomSound, great user interface, good front camera

Feels a little incremental, rear camera performance, in some areas there's no progression over the phone it replaces

The HTC One M9 is the third iteration of the HTC One, coming from strong stock: we loved the M7 and the M8, with both devices delivering premium build and a metal body that was unmatched. However, while the HTC One M9 offers plenty to love, it doesn't...

HTC One M9 review

A stunning design with oodles of power inside – but has HTC forgotten about the basics again?

Sleek design ; Cool theme generator ; Improved sound

Battery isn’t great ; Camera rather average ; a little on the pricey side

HTC One M9

Taking up the mantle as HTC's flagship phone in 2015, the HTC One M9 has a lot to live up to.

Beautifully crafted and well-designed ; Speedy processor ; Sense Home works brilliantly ; Great front-facing camera ; Best speakers you can find on a phone

Aesthetic changes not an improvement ; Rear camera not as good as the competition ; Some software niggles

HTC One M9 review

Evolution in the air, as HTC opts not to mess with a successful formula

Sharp screen Well-judged colour balance Enthusiastic audio performance High-res audio support Fast and responsive Great, customisable user interface Nice build

Poor battery life Camera struggles against competitors Contrast could be better Sound needs more refinement

HTC One M9 review

The HTC One M9 is fast and the Sense 7 UI is a big improvement, but it doesn't do enough to make it really stand out

The HTC One M9's design is once again a very much by-numbers update, but HTC's new Sense 7 interface gives the One M9 a new lease of life, making it feel anything but a tired rehash of year-old ideas. Admittedly, its battery life and overall screen...

HTC One M9 review

Updated with hands-on video: HTC has chosen the path of evolution for the next-gen One, but is that enough to make it the new pick of the Androids?

One of the classiest phones available ; Loads of power ; Very nice screen ; The best front camera around ; Rear camera takes great shots in the right circumstances ; Likeable, customisable UI

Battery life could be better ; Getting the best photos takes a bit of effort

It’s more evolution than revolution, but that still equates to the finest phone around - at least for now

HTC One M9 review: A gorgeous Android phone for 2015

Announced at MWC 2015, the HTC One M9 is the Taiwanese firm's flagship smartphone for 2015. It was announced on the same day as the Samsung Galaxy S6 which is one of its main rivals - at least until LG and Sony unveil their new premium handsets.

The HTC One M9 is a genuinely desirable smartphone with the best design and build available in Android land, even with Samsung upping the ante. It's good to see the powerful Snapdragon 810 and more memory, however, some key hardware remains the same...
