Sprint Mogul by HTC (PPC-6800)

Sprint's most powerful handheld could be more powerful still.

Fast processor. Lots of memory. Full keyboard. Wi-Fi and EV-DO.

Jerky video. So-so camera. EV-DO Rev 0, not Rev A speeds.

Review: HTC Mogul by HTC

I took Sprint's new smartphone with me on the commuter train, hoping someone might mistake it for an iPhone, snap some secretive pics of me,...

Speedy EVDO service for rapid web surfing. Sliding keyboard keeps the QWERTY out of the way until you really need it. 48MB onboard memory and microSD expansion slot leave plenty of room for photos and music. Solidly constructed

Ugly. Excessive input options — buttons, keyboard, stylus, voice — leave you more confused than satisfied. Slow camera shutter speed. What, only 2 megapixels

HTC Mogul PPC-6800 (Sprint) review

For a few months now, Sprint and Verizon Wireless customers have had to watch while their GSM counterparts at T-Mobile and AT&T got one new smartphone after another. Yet things are starting to look up--for Sprint subscribers, anyway. Today, the carrier...

The Sprint Mogul by HTC runs the latest Windows Mobile 6, has more memory included, and has a thinner design. It also boasts Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and EV-DO support as well as a 2-megapixel camera. Sprint will also offer an over-the-air update post-launch...

Some elements of the Mogul's hardware as well as speakerphone volume and quality is sub-par. A slower processor and limited program memory can sometimes slow down performance.

The Sprint Mogul by HTC brings some needed design and feature updates to its predecessor, and refreshes the carrier's staid lineup of smartphones. It has some performance issues, but is worth the upgrade.

HTC Mogul

To the surprise of some, companies continue to make handsets even after the Jobsian conception of the Jesus Phone, or, as it's more commonly known to PC users, the iPhone. Rather than proving itself to be the phone of phones (see review here), it is...

EVDO; Windows Mobile 6; Office Mobile; good voice quality

Pricey; odd scroll-wheel placement

The Mogul presents a good mix of power and portability. If you need access to Office apps while you’re on the road but still want an array of multimedia options, it’s a good, if pricey, choice.

HTC Mogul Cell Phone Review

The Mogul is a sizeable phone; at 4.3 x 2.3 x 0.7 inches and 5.8 ounces, it's a bit of a brick. However, this size has its advantages: it has a big, clear 3.5-inch screen and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Despite its size, it is comfortable and sits well...

The HTC Mogul has big shoes to fill as the successor to the PPC-6700, an extremely successful Windows Mobile handsets. We found the upgrades offered by the Mogul, Windows Mobile 6, 2 megapixel camera, scroll wheel, to be evolutionary rather than...

HTC Mogul

The replacement for the PPC-6700 Pocket PC phone is finally here! Sprint introduced the Mogul by HTC on June 18, 2007. The PPC-6700 was released in the fall of 2005, which is an eternity in the world of phones. The Mogul offers an updated modern look...

A very strong offering from Sprint, and a worthy, if not overdue, successor to the PPC-6700. The Mogul is manageable in size, powerful in terms of processing performance and storage memory and it has fast EVDO (with a promised upgrade to the faster...
