HTC Explorer

If you haven't quite got the dough for one of HTC's pricier high-end Android handset, then the more affordable Explorer might be up your street.

Sense user interface, Bright screen, Low price tag, Good performance for the price

Small screen hampers the web browsing experience slightly, No headphones supplied, Small amount of onboard storage

Budget Android smartphone that looks good - apart from the touchscreen

Fluid user interface ; Sturdy construction ; Strong web browser ; Responsive display

Low quality 3.15MP camera ; Small, grainy screen ; Occasional lag ; No boxed headphones

HTC Explorer

Android is a mobile OS that clearly appeals to geeks. And its appeal to those who like flexible, powerful phones that have a great selection of games and apps is clear too. But where does that leave the person on the street? The normal Joe, the man or...

Cheap, small, clear calls, great for occasional users, good battery life

Screen is a little too small, screen looks bad with moving content

This might not be a phone for power-Android users, but it's a likable enough handset for most use.

A pleasingly chunky smartphone, but it's not the best value budget model we've seen

HTC Explorer Review: In Depth

The HTC Explorer is a very affordable touchscreen phone that does the basics well enough but with an added dash of the usual HTC style and flair. There are a glut of inexpensive Android phones on the…

Easy to use ; Easy to customise ; Nice price

Camera isn’t the best ; No flash ; Maybe too small for some

On the whole, before turning on the device, we were relatively impressed with the HTC Explorer. We liked the simple design, and the rubber backplate had a sense of quality about it. But it’s when you start to delve a little deeper when the problems...

HTC Explorer

The HTC Explorer is a small entry level phone. It has a 3.2-inch screen, a 600MHz processor, 3-megapixel camera and 512MB of internal memory. The HTC Explorer does not pack its own pair of earphones, but a 3.5mm slot up top lets you use your own. Wi-Fi...

The HTC Explorer is decent entry level phone that offers little in the way of standout features. Despite this it’s still a worthwhile purchase for those simply looking for a phone they use to stay in contact, but love the idea of being able to hit up...

WOW, here we are at the end of another review. Hard to believe really as the time really has flown by. Overall my time with the HTC Explorer has been quite a pleasant one although I wasn't blown away by the sheer quality of the phone. I was however...

HTC Explorer review

The latest addition to HTC's bulging pockets stuffedwith Android smartphones isn't aimed at aficionados orriders at the high-tech gates of mobile internet dawn. The HTCExplorer is designed for the newcomer to the world of "connectedeverything", who's...

Android on a budget, sturdy case, good battery life

Modest spec, camera quite poor

It's not really an object of desire, but as a solidly built andwell equipped introduction to smartphones, the HTC Explorer couldend up on an awful lot of shopping lists this year, and rightfullyso.

HTC Explorer budget smartphone

Review The latest from startlingly prolific smart phone manufacturer HTC won't be top of the list for mobile aficionados. It's a basic entry-level Android with middling specs though these are still probably a cut above its bog-standard price. But for...

The advantage of a relatively low-powered screen and processor is that the modest 1230mAh battery should be able to go a few times round the block without a recharge and sure enough, this one gave a little over two days of consistent use. Indeed, the...
