Why go for the HP hw6515 when you have the Garmin iQue M5. Not to say that the HP is bad, but the iQue combines all features found in the HP hw6515, except the keyboard, and is lighter on the pocket. Its navigation system and maps are extremely...

Just as the great unwashed now think that all things MP3 is called an iPod, so there was a time when all handheld devices were simply known as iPAQs. This must have annoyed most vendors, especially Palm, but HP was never heard to complain. Now, the...

HP’s new connected device isn’t so much a smartphone as a PDA with a keyboard
The HP iPAQ hw6515 Mobile Messenger is only the second such handset the company has launched and as you would expect, HP has opted for the Microsoft route. However, rather than finding Smartphone Edition powering it, you'll find Pocket PC Phone Edition...

HP's iPAQ hw6515 Mobile Messenger is potentially a very useful device for mobile professionals, particularly those needing convenient navigation functionality. But its limited battery life and lack of Wi-Fi are serious drawbacks
Mini-keyboard is a good example of its type ; SD and miniSD expansion slots ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS phone, GPS receiver and navigation engine built in
Lacks Wi-Fi ; Disappointing battery life ; GPS navigation system comes with only one free city map ; Non-standard screen size causes software compatibility issues
Although we are unhappy about the lack of Wi-Fi and disappointed by its battery life, the hw6515's innovative square screen could prove to be the biggest drawback. Bundled Windows Mobile applications all render well, but we had mixed experiences with...

The integrated GPS receiver proved effective. We got an adequate signal sitting by a window in our office, and it retained a connection even in built-up areas. TomTom's navigation engine was up to its usual high standard as well.

The new iPaq hw6515 Mobile Messenger ups the ante on its PDA-phone competitors with a built-in GPS receiver and lightweight design.
Lightweight design; integrated GPS receiver; Pushmail support; dual expansion slots; QWERTY keyboard
No Wi-Fi; relatively slow processing power and battery life
HP's latest iPaq has what it takes to compete with the O2s and Treos in the PDA-phone market, but not without some tradeoffs.

Actually the model is a monoblock with an integrated QWETRY-keypad placed under the screen. It resembles Palm models of the Treo line, though the concept is the same there is no direct copying.

The HP iPaq hw6515 rocks a bright 3-inch, 320x240-pixel screen that displays text and images in 64,000 colors. To protect the TFT QVGA screen from scratches, HP throws in a plastic flip cover that's easily attachable. Just below the screen are two...

Unfortunately, the HP iPaq hw6515 doesn't have integrated Wi-Fi or Windows Mobile 5, and it suffers from sluggish performance occasionally
The HP iPaq hw6515 offers great tools for the mobile professional, but its poky performance keeps it from achieving smart-phone greatness.
And like the Palm Treo and the Samsung SCH-i730, the iPaq hw6515 boasts its own full QWERTY keyboard. The rounded backlit keys are tiny but well spaced and responsive, if a bit slippery.
