Doro PhoneEasy 618 (Consumer Cellular)

No one can deny that we live in the age of the smartphone, but there's still a healthy demand for no-frills cell phones. I've seen plenty of simple phones hit the market over the past year or so, from bare bones feature phones on the major carriers, to...

Inexpensive. Well-made. Excellent call quality. Nice display

Low speakerphone volume. No voice dialing. Mediocre camera

The Doro PhoneEasy 618 for Consumer Cellular is one of the simplest phones you can buy, with a good-looking display and impressive call quality.

Doro PhoneEasy 618 (Consumer Cellular)

Doro, a phone manufacturer that tailors its products to seniors, told me recently that designing a senior device isn't as easy as it looks. In addition to a strong call performance, the handset also has to be user-friendly both in its physical design...

The Doro PhoneEasy 618 is extremely user-friendly, has a handful of useful tools, and an external display.

The PhoneEasy 618's flush keypad can be hard to press and battery life was disappointing.

Designed with seniors in mind, the Doro PhoneEasy 618's not only an affordable buy, but it also includes a few extras without skipping over the essentials.

"Great choice for seniors"

I'm retired, not a big talker and don't need much data when I'm out of the house, so I don't need a smartphone or an unlimited voice/text plan.

Ease of use

A bit bulky
